Operational integrity is critical to International Wealth Management's (IWM's) strategic objectives. The Manager, Operations Business Support is responsible for leading and executing process improvements initiatives, executing data quality initiatives, and supporting operational and data governance efforts within International Wealth Management Operations. This role contributes to the overall success of the department, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed & delivered in support of IWM's strategies and objectives. This will involve working with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements, analyze data, and implement solutions. They will be responsible for ensuring that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Lead and execute medium-to-large operational effectiveness and efficiency projects supporting International Wealth Management
  • Design, document, and implement operational policies, procedures, process flow, business cases, and related efficiencies, in support of operational efficiency and automation initiatives
  • Gather, process, and conduct in-depth data analysis from various sources, including databases and data warehouses, to deliver various reporting
  • Investigate and resolve data-related issues, working with technical teams to troubleshoot programing codes and implement fixes
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures & work with data owners to define data definitions and business rules
  • Provide leadership and financial expertise to design, administer and execute the onshore/offshore client referral and revenue sharing program for the four Scotiabank Wealth Management business lines across the Caribbean and Pacific Alliance Countries - Asset Management, Advisory and Brokerage, Private Banking and Trust, including the definition and implementation of standard operating procedures, Service Level Agreements and Governance of same
  • Manage the calculation, payments, and reporting for Strategic Partnerships' onshore / offshore client referral between onshore and offshore Scotiabank entities, as well as process revenue sharing payments
  • Process invoice payments for IWM business lines
  • Create clear, concise, and informative reports and dashboards to communicate data insights and key metrics to stakeholders using data visualization tools to present findings effectively
  • Work collaboratively with local and international business lines, Finance and Technology partners to define, document, and implement operational processes to understand project requirements and implement solutions & participate in cross-functional projects as an operational expert, providing training and support to business users on process flows and reporting

  • A University degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Wealth Management business and operational knowledge is desired
  • 3 + years of experience with data management tools and various query and processing languages (SQL, Python, ETL)
  • 2 + years' experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, Looker)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MS Access and Databases is required
  • Spanish language is an asset as the role requires interaction with LATAM countries
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to make presentations to various groups, including Senior Leaders
  • An expert ability to balance competing or conflicting goals of various departments/stakeholders, requiring a prioritization approach
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and change management skills
  • Strong acumen for financial analysis, data analytics and reporting required, including but not limited to Databases data extraction, Python, SQL, and other data technologies
