This role is responsible for leading resiliency and technology currency initiatives across U.S. Personal & Business Banking and Wealth Technology, ensuring critical applications and services remain resilient, recoverable, supportable, and aligned to enterprise and regulatory expectations.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in advancing disaster recovery readiness, business continuity planning, Live DR execution, regulatory remediation programs, and technology currency initiatives. They will partner across technology, infrastructure, business, risk, audit, and enterprise resiliency teams to drive complex initiatives from strategy through execution.
This leader will manage a small team and be responsible for influencing outcomes across a broad network of stakeholders while ensuring critical milestones, remediation commitments, and resilience objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Resilience & Disaster Recovery
  • Lead disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BCP), and operational resilience programs supporting critical applications and services.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen the resiliency, recoverability, stability, and overall readiness of critical technology services.
  • Identify operational risks, resiliency gaps, and technology vulnerabilities, and lead efforts to address them.
  • Lead application readiness activities for Live DR (LivePlay), recovery testing, failover exercises, restoration testing, and other resilience validation activities.
  • Coordinate recovery planning, dependency mapping, remediation efforts, and resilience deliverables across the U.S. P&BB and Wealth Technology portfolio.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, and business teams to improve recovery readiness, reduce operational risk, and enhance service reliability.
  • Establish and maintain governance processes, metrics, dashboards, and reporting that provide visibility into resilience posture, readiness, and progress against key initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technical and resilience-related information clearly and effectively to senior leaders, business stakeholders, and executive audiences.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure commitments, milestones, and resilience objectives are delivered on time.

Technology Currency
  • Lead technology currency and end-of-life (EOL) remediation initiatives for US P&BB and Wealth Technology.
  • Partner with application teams, infrastructure teams, and technology owners to reduce technology debt and improve operational sustainability.
  • Monitor currency metrics, remediation plans, risks, and enterprise commitments.
  • Drive accountability for achieving currency targets and reducing operational risk.
  • Establish and maintain reporting that provides clear visibility into technology currency health, remediation progress, emerging risks, and key watch items, ensuring stakeholders and executives are informed and action is taken when issues threaten delivery or increase operational risk.

Leadership & Governance
  • As a people leader, manage a team by setting priorities, providing coaching, driving accountability, and supporting employee development.
  • Establish clear priorities, remove roadblocks, and ensure strong execution discipline.
  • Facilitate meetings, executive reviews, and risk discussions.
  • Develop concise, executive-ready reporting and presentations for senior leaders, and other internal and external partners.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

We are looking for a leader who:
  • Takes initiative and acts with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Thinks strategically and proactively identifies opportunities to improve resilience, reduce risk, and simplify processes.
  • Brings forward ideas and recommendations instead of simply executing assigned tasks.
  • Drives work to completion and follows through on commitments with minimal oversight.
  • Is highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Builds strong relationships and effectively influences teams across a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Communicates with confidence and credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Can translate technical concepts into clear messaging for executive, business, and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), Operational Resilience, Technology Risk, Infrastructure Operations, Service Delivery, or Technology Governance.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery testing, recovery planning, resiliency frameworks, and operational readiness practices.
  • Experience driving large-scale cross-functional initiatives involving technology, infrastructure, cloud, and business stakeholders.
  • Understanding of technology currency management, technical debt reduction, application lifecycle management, and end-of-life remediation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive results.
  • Previous people leadership experience preferred.
  • Technical background in application development, infrastructure, cloud technologies, or technology operations is considered an asset.
