Manager of Quality

Milwaukee, WI area

With almost 700 beds, this leader in WI healthcare has been nationally recognized for its quality of care in many areas.

They are a not-for-profit Wisconsin integrated health care provider, with locations in more than 90 communities throughout Wisconsin, including 15 hospitals!

They have an immediate opening for a nurse Manager of Quality to continue the great work of the department. This position will function as the #1 Quality professional on site and report to a Regional Director with multi hospital responsibility.

Primary Purpose:

Manages the operations of the quality, care management and other programs as assigned. Accountable for achieving the targets established for budget, productivity, quality, patient loyalty, and staff engagement.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the Medical Center's quality and care management programs, policies, and procedures that support patient care, facilities, employees, and the community.
  • Assists department leadership in meeting all productivity, budgetary, employee engagement, quality and patient outcome targets and standards by continually monitoring and making recommendations for adjustments and improvements.
  • Provides support and consultation to the governing body, management, medical staff, committees, and clinical areas to plan, promote, facilitate, and conduct Medical Center quality assessment and improvement and performance improvement activities.
  • Assists with the implementation of care management, quality and other programs as assigned to accomplish targets and provide measurements related to care management strategy.
  • Assists with the communication and project management of all care management efforts and initiatives at Medical Center.
  • Assists risk management with conducting root cause analysis.
  • Assists in implementing all quality and care management initiatives (e.g. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Premier).
  • Participates in State and Federal surveys and national projects around safety and quality.
  • Develops and creates reports on quality and safety efforts.
  • Collaborates with clinic care management to promote coordination between medical center and clinic initiatives.
  • Ensures all areas meet productivity, budgetary, employee engagement and patient loyalty targets and standards by continually monitoring and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in quality improvement/assessment and/or infection prevention, Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in managing operations of quality/infection prevention and control programs.
  • Client prefers experience in larger or academic medical centers.
  • Willing to consider supervisors or leads with high ceilings.
