Job DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities - Evaluate the feasibility of selected concepts to meet functional, clinical and customer needs
- Manage a team of design engineers to guide and keep up with product timelines ensuring approved projects are completed on time.
- Design, develop and prototype new products in accordance with company Product Development Process (PDP) requirements
- Manage Engineering document control audits and processes for customers product qualification processes
- Evaluate the feasibility of concepts and/or prototypes through engineering testing and analysis, consistent with customer expectations
- Develop timelines and cost estimates for development tasks and appraise management of performance against plan
- Strong understanding of new product development technologies and application to company strategic clinical presence/needs
- Obtain components/supplies/equipment to support prototype assembly, and conduct preliminary OEM vendor assessment/selection
- Assess reliability, safety, performance and risk of new designs & methodologies; Coordinate and communicate development schedules and compatibility or design issues throughout the team continuously
- Provide input into the creation/modification of Product Specifications in alignment with Customer Requirements
- Identify, develop and implement pre-production assembly methods and equipment; Coordinate with OEM vendor activities relative to communication of specifications, development schedules, and system compatibility
- Transfer of designs to manufacturing through liaison with manufacturing engineering and external suppliers
- Oversee testing and theoretical analysis of products to determine product safety and efficacy
- Writing warning statements, instructions & technical bulletins;
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and applicable laws;
- Preparing drawings and bills of material;
- Working with QC to ensure product quality.
Job Requirements Education- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Skills & Relevant Work Experience- Minimum of 10+ years' experience focused in the field of electrical engineering
- Experience in testing or developing of simple or complex mechatronic systems and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Passion for conceiving, creating and designing useful, innovative products
- Experience identifying various business problems or product flaws and coming up with creative solutions
This role reports daily to our Matamoros, Mexico plant to oversee the daily activities of the Product Development Team.
