Full Job Description

The Manager of Personalization leads the team accountable for 7-Eleven’s personalization and decisioning capability within Marketing Technology (MarTech). This role owns the delivery and operation of the personalization capability layer, how models, rules, business goals, and channel logic are consumed and activated to decide the experience, offer, message, or recommendation a customer receives across app, web, in-store, pump, CRM, and paid channels. The Manager is responsible for consolidating fragmented personalization capabilities (e.g., personalization API/gateway, decisioning, experimentation) under MarTech, establishing a clear production inventory and ownership, and partnering with data science, product, data, and architecture to move toward an omnichannel decisioning platform with a business-facing interface. This people-leadership role sets the personalization roadmap, manages a team, and reduces keyperson and single-platform risk while improving measurement and speed to launch.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the team delivering personalization and decisioning capabilities across MarTech channels.
  • Own the personalization roadmap and drive consolidation of the personalization API/gateway, decisioning, and experimentation under clear MarTech ownership.
  • Define how models, rules, business goals, and channel logic are consumed and activated consistently across channels, with next-best-action/offer as one input among many.
  • Establish a validated production inventory, model/attribute change management, and consumer-notification processes.
  • Partner with data science on model consumption and evaluation, and with product on business-facing decisioning and goal setting.
  • Extend personalization coverage across channels (e.g., onsite/web, app, CFD/pump) and improve experimentation and measurement.
  • Manage team performance, hiring, prioritization, delivery cadences, and stakeholder/leadership communication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 7+ years

YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 3+ years

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: Agile or PMP certifications a plus.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong people leadership: hiring, coaching, performance management, and delivery.
  • Deep understanding of personalization/decisioning (next-best-action/offer, recommendations, propensity, segmentation, experimentation) and how they combine across channels.
  • Familiarity with the personalization stack (personalization API/gateway, SFMC/MCP, Databricks, models, A/B testing) and identity/data foundations.
  • Experience operationalizing models and defining model/attribute governance and change management.
  • Understanding of measurement/attribution and compliance (opt-in, CCPA).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and business audiences.
