Manager of Office, Canada (Business Executive)

Job Description
As the Business Executive (Office of the Managing Director), Sage Canada, you will serve as a trusted partner, proxy, and force multiplier for the Managing Director (MD). Your primary mandate is to support the MD across all day-to-day functions and activities, ensuring focus, follow-through, and operational excellence as the business continues to scale.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will act as a liaison between the MD, the Canadian Leadership Team, and the broader organization, representing the MD in meetings when required, capturing and driving action items, and ensuring alignment on priorities and commitments. You will also play a central role in shaping and stewarding the Office of the MD, including managing internal and external presence, communications, and engagement.
This role requires exceptional judgment, resilience, and discretion, the ability to operate efficiently and with speed under pressure, and a willingness to work extended hours when required to ensure outcomes are delivered.

Key Responsibilities
• Executive Partnership & Proxy
o Act as a trusted advisor and proxy for the Managing Director in meetings, forums, and working sessions.
o Prepare the MD for key engagements, reviewing the calendar to make certain that they are prepared for upcoming meetings and ensuring clarity of objectives, pre read materials, scripts and outcomes.
o Capture, track, and drive action items to completion across the organization.
o Proactively set up the MD and the Office of the MD for success through anticipation, prioritization, and execution. Innovation and bringing ideas forward is a key part of the role.
• Executive Meeting Preparation & Presentation
o Prepare for and participate in executive-level meetings, including the development of clear, concise, and impactful presentations for senior leadership.
o Synthesize complex topics into executive-ready materials and recommendations.
• Strategy, Innovation & Effectiveness
o Continuously identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and impact of the role, including leveraging AI and automation to streamline workflows, insights, and decision-making.
o Bring forward new and innovative ideas to enhance execution, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
• Financial & Commercial Analysis
o Compile, analyze, and present financial and operational data to support strategic decision-making.
o Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, including understanding of P&L dynamics, business drivers, and trade-offs.
o Support planning, forecasting, and performance tracking which requires strong commercial sales acumen.
• Market & Go-To-Market (GTM) Support
o Analyze market trends and support the development and execution of GTM strategies aligned to business priorities.
o Partner with functional leaders to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.
• Culture, Communications & Social Presence
o Own and evolve the internal and external social presence of the Office of the MD, including social media and leadership communications.
o Bring forward innovative ideas to strengthen culture, employee engagement, and leadership visibility.
o Act as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and pride in work.
• Execution & Scale
o Support scaling initiatives, including hiring and organizational growth.
o Manage high-visibility, time-sensitive projects with precision and consistency.
o Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, balancing multiple priorities with confidence and composure.

Experience & Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in go-to-market, operations, or commercial environments.
• Degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience preparing for and presenting in executive-level forums.
• Strong ability to analyze, structure, and synthesize large volumes of data, delivering C-level insights.
• Demonstrated experience supporting or partnering closely with senior executives.
• Track record of managing high-visibility initiatives and delivering exceptional outcomes.
• Experience scaling and hiring in a rapidly growing business.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at the functional leadership level.
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
• Ability to work extended hours when required and remain effective under pressure.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Certain provinces in Canada require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range applicable to the role. For this role, in those locations, the target base salary range for new hires is CAD 135,000 to CAD 170,000. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in a bonus plan (20%) based on company and individual performance. Our talent acquisition team will provide specific opportunities on our bonus or incentive programs. The range listed is just one component of the Sage total compensation package.
