Job SummaryThe Manager of Nursing Professional Development and Education provides leadership for nursing education, professional development, orientation, competency management, evidence-based practice, simulation, and continuous learning across acute and critical care service lines. Working collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders, the manager assesses learning needs, develops and evaluates educational programs and curriculum, oversees nurse educators, promotes certification, and advances quality, updating policies, technology integration, safety, and professional practice. This includes the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve the healthcare practice of learners in alignment with Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Practice Model and Standards of Professional Nursing Practice as well as organizational goals. This position will report to the Vice President of Nursing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Leadership- Direct nursing professional development programs.
- Supervise nurse educators.
- Collaborate with operational and quality leaders.
Learning Needs Assessment- Assess practice gaps.
- Use quality and regulatory data to prioritize education.
Education & Competency- Oversee orientation, onboarding, annual competencies, continuing education, simulation, curriculum development.
Quality & Professional Practice- Promote evidence-based practice, research, performance improvement, certification, shared governance.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities- Develop annual education plans, manage resources, academic partnerships, evaluate program outcomes.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (BSN) required
- Master's of Science Nursing Degree required
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in State of Georgia required
- 3+ Years Clinical experience in education and training required.
- 3+ Years Clinical nursing leadership experience required.
- 5+ Years Clinical nursing experience required.
- Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions and apply it to problem solving required.
- Project planning and implementation skills including reporting and directing the work of others required.
- Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills required.
- Basic Life Support Course (BLS) - AHA - American Heart Association required
