What you'll do
As the Manager, Engineering Finance & Operations, you will lead the team responsible for the financial, operational, and reporting aspects of the Engineering Department's capital spend. You will establish best practices for purchase order processing and invoice payment for Engineering capital expenditures while ensuring the Finance & Operations team delivers against operational KPIs.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and external vendors to drive financial accuracy, operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will oversee the processing, authorization, and reporting of Capital Engineering projects totaling more than $300 million annually, while managing a vendor base of 200+ accounts and the processing of 1,500+ invoices annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering Finance & Operations team, establishing goals and driving accountability for performance.
  • Partner with Divisional Finance teams to manage capital budgets, analyze spend versus budget, and communicate accruals, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to Engineering, Finance, and Accounting teams on capital spend, capital versus expense decisions, and financial processes.
  • Oversee purchase order and invoice processing, ensuring compliance with SOPs, corporate accounting policies, and operational KPIs.
  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, account structures, training materials, and Oracle-related business processes.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Oracle, capital project accounting, purchase order and invoice processing, and audit support.
  • Manage vendor relationships, invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and contract compliance across a large vendor network.
  • Deliver accurate reporting and analysis on capital spend, project status, equipment uptime/downtime, and Engineering performance metrics.
  • Monitor new building capital spend and provide regular reporting to Divisional Finance and Engineering leadership.
  • Partner with IT on system enhancements and process improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Support Logistics and Distribution Services initiatives and represent Engineering on cross-functional operational reviews and divisional calls.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex vendor, invoice, purchase order, and system-related issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Internal Audit, External Audit, and SOX compliance activities.
  • Prepare and present business reviews, vendor updates, and leadership reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, streamline processes, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports, preparing them for future growth opportunities within the organization.

  • Understanding of the Material Handling Equipment industry.
  • Understanding of the off-price retail business model.


Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Finance and/or Accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of the Material Handling industry preferred.

This position has a starting salary range of $117,000.00 to $152,100.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
