Job Title: Manager, Occupational Health & Safety

Reports to: Director, Human Resources

Location: Revelstoke, BC

Job Summary

The Manager, Occupational Health & Safety provides enterprise safety leadership across a diverse portfolio of businesses, including resort, hospitality, construction, development, maintenance, and other operational environments. This role is responsible for establishing a consistent safety strategy, standards, and culture across the organization while ensuring programs are appropriately adapted to the unique risks of each business.

As a strategic partner to the Director, Human Resources and senior operational leaders, the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety will integrate safety into broader people and business strategies. This role will influence and coach leaders to take ownership of safety performance, moving beyond compliance to build a culture where safety is embedded in everyday decision-making.

The role also provides safety leadership across construction and development projects, ensuring risks are identified and managed from planning through execution. The Manager, Occupational Health & Safety will have direct accountability for the OHS budget, including planning, forecasting, claims-related costs, safety investments, and evaluating the financial impact of risk and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead an enterprise-wide OHS strategy, establishing consistent safety standards, systems, and performance expectations across multiple businesses and operating environments.
  • Partner with the Director, Human Resources to integrate safety into the broader people strategy, leadership practices, and organizational priorities.
  • Build strong safety leadership and accountability by coaching and influencing operational leaders to own safety within their areas of responsibility.
  • Provide strategic safety leadership for construction, development, capital projects, maintenance, and other high-risk activities, in addition to traditional resort and hospitality operations.
  • Oversee OHS compliance, COR, WorkSafeBC requirements, risk management, audits, inspections, and safety programs.
  • Lead serious incident investigations and drive meaningful corrective and preventative actions.
  • Analyze injury, claims, and safety trends to identify organizational risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Own the OHS budget, ensuring effective financial planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and investment in risk reduction and safety initiatives.
  • Lead and support OHS Advisors while creating a consistent approach to safety across the organization.
  • Promote a proactive, practical, and accountable safety culture focused on prevention and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications and Abilities
  • 7+ years of progressive Occupational Health & Safety experience, ideally within a complex, multi-business organization.
  • Demonstrated experience providing enterprise or multi-site safety leadership across diverse operating environments.
  • Strong construction, development, capital project, maintenance, or other high-risk industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC legislation, OHS requirements, COR, and safety management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with serious incident investigations, risk management, and safety program development.
  • Proven budget management and financial planning experience, with an understanding of the financial impact of claims, risk, controls, and safety investments.
  • A strong track record of influencing and coaching leaders and building operational ownership of safety.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect safety priorities to broader people, operational, and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • CRSP, NCSO, or another relevant safety designation is an asset.


Starting Salary: $85,000.00 annually. Salary is negotiable based on the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
