Duties

Help

  • You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive short and long term logistics strategies for the Energetics Manufacturing Technology Department.
  • You will oversee explosives transportation both on and off station, including OCONUS movements, as well as warehousing and inventory management.
  • You will ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards, OP-5, Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • You will prepare and manage division level budgets.
  • You will ensure alignment with organizational goals, succession planning, recruitment, training, leadership, and mentoring of subordinate team members, and fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • You will cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and General-level officers, to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • You will monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process optimizations to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading programmatic and technical work that includes program budgets, schedules, and resources for the planning, execution, and management of transportation, logistics, and inventory programs.

Additional information

You will serve as a Manager in the Energetics Movement Office (MO) of Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.

The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

This position may be eligible for Supervisory Pay Differential of up to four (4) percent.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
