Full Job Description
Primary Function:

The Manager - Licensing will report directly to the VP of Governance & Licensing and will have direct supervisory oversight of licensing staff/resources. The Manager - Licensing will be responsible for supervising licensing staff to ensure the organizations obtains and retain all loan officer, branch, and enterprise level licenses it must maintain in order to carry out its business operations. The Licensing Manager is vital to ensure that the organizations remains compliance to operate according to its business plans. The focus of this role will be to ensure all licenses are up to date, all issues including risks that arise with licenses are addressed timely and completely and that the entire Licensing team is performing at the highest level.

Principal Duties:

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for Licensing including taking actions that drive efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Work cross-functionally within departments to lead internal projects and strategic initiatives designed to improved growth, profitability, and efficiency across the business.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reporting packages for senior management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations including but not limited to, systems, controls, and performance for licensure and any applicable business unit.
  • Ensure the gathering of data accuracy for purposes of required licenses.
  • Revise and update licensing information through NMLS and otherwise consistently.
  • Address any deficiencies, Licensing Policy and procedures, including making necessary changes to meet any newly instituted licensing requirements.
  • Report on licensing status, concerns, and potential risk to the VP of Governance & Licensing.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships will all business units and government authorities.
  • Ensure the Licensing team perform all of the its duties in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support the VP of Governance & Licensing and General Counsel on risk analysis, licensing owned projects, licenisng reports, and preparation for key management meetings and committees.
  • Organize Licensing team member training, collobrrate on goals and set expectations.
  • Resolve regulatory issues and internal licensing concerns or issues.
  • Maintain a good professional working relationship with peers, other business units and state agencies.
  • Delegate tasks to appropriate licensing team members.
  • Manage deadlines and progress across the team to ensure projects or assigned tasks are delivered on time, to specifications and high standards.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from business unit and regulatory bodies to gauge satisfaction and success.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 6-8 years of mortgage experience, including strong knowledge of NMLS and licensing requirements.


Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of regulatory topics, concepts, practices, and procedures related to the life of a loan (origination, servicing, loss mitigation, and default/foreclosure).
  • Experience leading process improvement efforts resulting in efficiencies nd productivity gain.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, including the ability to utilize the following functions: V-Lookup, H-Lookup, Concatenating formulas, Conditional Formatting, and Pivot Tables.
  • Current, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project, is a plus.
