Position Overview

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance function within our manufacturing operation. This is a highly visible, hands-on role, with approximately 80% of time spent on the production floor supporting equipment reliability, troubleshooting issues, coordinating projects, and working directly with operators and vendors, and 20% spent on planning, reporting, purchasing, and administrative responsibilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and driving reliability improvements across a manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities to support production goals and minimize downtime.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to improve reliability.
• Monitor maintenance and downtime metrics and implement improvements to increase equipment performance.
• Coordinate equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and capital projects.
• Support equipment installations, trials, and process improvement initiatives.
• Manage maintenance-related purchasing, contractor services, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain and optimize spare parts inventory and critical maintenance resources.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Partner closely with production personnel to resolve equipment issues and support daily operations.
    • This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility to meet business needs as required.

• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, reliability programs, and capital project management.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and improve asset reliability.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to balance a highly visible floor presence (approximately 80% of time) with planning, reporting, and administrative responsibilities (approximately 20% of time).
