Manager, LogisticsPosition Summary: The Manager, Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing all Logistics operations within a high-output warehouse, ensuring that all Shipping, Receiving, kitting, and job fulfillment activities meet Production goals, Quality standards, and delivery deadlines. Working closely with the other Logistics leaders, this role ensures a seamless transition from production to final shipment, optimizing distribution and delivery to meet customer demands. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage a dynamic workforce, including up to five direct report supervisors and up to 100 warehouse employees. The Manager, Logistics will drive efficiencies across all Logistics functions, optimize workflows to meet monthly shipment targets, and foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability. This role typically requires 7-10 years of Logistics or Operations experience in a high-volume warehouse environment and proven experience managing large teams, including direct supervisory responsibility. The Manager, Logistics will work collaboratively with departments including Quality, Sales, Engineering, and Assembly to ensure seamless coordination of Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Oversee all Logistics functions, including Shipping, Receiving, kitting, and inventory management, ensuring processes are optimized to meet Production and shipping deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with the Domestics Logistics team to coordinate final shipment and distribution logistics, ensuring smooth transitions from warehouse operations to outbound delivery.
- Develop, implement, and manage strategies for efficient and cost-effective movement of goods to meet customer and business requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments (Production, Quality, Purchasing) to ensure smooth, timely operations aligned with Production schedules and customer demand.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to 5 direct report supervisors, providing guidance, support, and regular performance feedback.
- Develop staffing plans and oversee workforce management strategies to maintain adequate staffing levels, including hiring, training, and performance management for up to 100 employees.
- Foster a positive, safety-oriented work culture focused on productivity, accountability, and teamwork.
- Identify, implement, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for Logistics, using data to make decisions, drive improvement, and report on operational performance.
- Establish and maintain effective quality control measures to ensure shipments are accurate, timely, and compliant with customer specifications.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
- Lead safety initiatives within the warehouse, including training programs and the development of a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure that all employees adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Prepare and manage Logistics budgets, including costs for labor, equipment, materials, and other resources.
- Analyze and report on budget variances and develop strategies to optimize operational costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Partner with Finance and leadership to forecast and control costs, ensuring the Logistics department meets its financial goals.
- Oversee inventory control and management to ensure proper stock levels, accurate tracking, and minimal waste.
- Implement and manage processes for tracking equipment, tools, and other assets, ensuring that they are in good working condition and utilized effectively.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. 7-10 years of Logistics or Operations experience in a high-volume warehouse environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proven experience managing large teams, including direct supervisory responsibility.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
- Proficiency in ERP and Logistics software as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a focus on results and efficiency.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
Working Conditions:- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
