General Responsibilities: The Manager, Logistics & Distribution is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of logistics and distribution operations in support of business objectives. This role will execute transportation strategy, distribution center performance, and third-party logistics (3PL) relationships to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and compliant movement of goods. The position partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Operations to deliver service excellence while continuously improving cost, service, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Logistics & Transportation Management- Manage freight and distribution budgets, including forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control across all transportation modes.
- Lead structured quarterly and/or monthly business reviews with transportation and logistics suppliers to drive performance, cost transparency, and accountability.
- Establish freight standards and lane-level costing to support accurate product costing and margin management.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of inbound ocean transportation.
- Oversee customs, import/export, and brokerage processes to ensure regulatory compliance and uninterrupted supply.
- Oversee outbound shipment execution across all modes (FTL, LTL, parcel, intermodal, and international), ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and customer compliance.
- Lead customs, duty, and trade compliance management, including import/export activities, tariff classification, broker oversight, duty optimization, and audit readiness to ensure regulatory compliance and uninterrupted supply flows.
Distribution & 3PL Oversight- Manage relationships with domestic and international 3PL providers, including service level agreements, KPIs, and corrective action plans.
- Drive operational execution across distribution centers to ensure safety, inventory accuracy, on-time fulfillment, and cost efficiency.
- Resolve service failures, customer fines, claims, and chargebacks through root-cause analysis and structured corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement & Strategy Execution- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation optimization, network design, cost reduction, and service improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and data-driven tools to enhance logistics visibility and decision-making.
- Support strategic planning initiatives related to network changes, volume growth, and new product introductions.
People Leadership & Collaboration- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to logistics team members; conduct performance reviews and support individual development plans.
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Service to align logistics execution with business priorities.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for logistics and distribution topics across the organization.
Required Experience BS degree required a minimum of 3-5 years of job related experience in Supply Chain.
Preferred 5-7 years of job related experience. Preferred rate negotiations and contracts, supervision experience, and project leader.
