Salary Range: $128,430-$142,700

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plan, execute and monitor distribution of locomotives to achieve on-time performance, while meeting utilization and productivity goals.
- Plan distribution of locomotives on system for freight, local and road/yard switch.
- Plan distribution and monitor movement of locomotives for scheduled maintenance, repair and special assignments.
- Manage high performance team to achieve on time performance and fuel conservation.
- Maintain accurate locomotive inventory at all locations on territory.
- Attend daily corridor/business unit conference calls and meetings.
- Supervise Assistant Managers Locomotive Distribution (AMLUs).
- Communicate plan adjustments and exception reports to AMLUs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- Basic knowledge of locomotive types and capabilities required.
- Knowledge of train movement, blocking and scheduling procedures required.
- Must be able to demonstrate advanced PC and mainframe skills.
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines, with high quality, error-free results.
- Must be able to take initiative for solving problems.
- Must take responsibility for own decisions and actions.
- Should be able to make sound decisions even when under time pressure or conditions of uncertainty.
- Should demonstrate good personal time management skills.
- Must be able to comprehend verbal material quickly and easily.
- Must be able communicate candidly and openly with others.
- Ability to maintain control and composure even where there are strong differences of opinions is required.
- Need to be able to establish smooth, cooperative-working relationships with others.
- Must be able to adjust easily to changes at work.
- Need to develop short-term plans that are realistic and effective in accomplishing business objectives.
- Basic knowledge of federal regulations (e.g., FRA, EPA) required.
- Must be able to follow through on commitments.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Additional Valued Competencies:
- Knowledge of LISS or other graphical interface systems.
- Knowledge of General and Safety Rules.
