About the Role:

The Manager, Legal Operations will report to the Director, Head of Legal Operations and play a critical role in scaling and optimizing the operations of our Legal team. This role will own the legal department budget and the outside counsel and vendor management program, while driving continuous improvement, adoption, and efficiency. You will partner closely with attorneys, cross-functional stakeholders, and business teams to ensure Legal is delivering high-quality, business-oriented support.

This is a hands-on role for a strong operator who thrives on building processes, managing systems, and creating actionable insights through data and reporting.

You Will:
  • Own the legal department budget: planning, tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with Finance.
  • Oversee outside counsel management program, including managing firm relationships, including the enforcement of outside counsel guidelines, rate negotiations, and matter budgets.
  • Serve as primary administrator for e-billing platform and matter management system; ensure data integrity and train legal team on tools.
  • Own the monthly accruals process in partnership with Finance, tracking unbilled outside counsel spend, gathering estimates from law firms, and ensuring accurate reporting at close.
  • Lead vendor selection and RFP processes for legal technology and outside counsel panels.
  • Evaluate and implement AI and automation tools to reduce administrative burden on attorneys
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting on legal spend for leadership.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across legal workflows
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance Legal's scalability, efficiency, and impact.
  • Serve as a trusted partner and thought leader to attorneys and business stakeholders on operational best practices.


You Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, or a related function.
  • 2+ years working in or closely with an in-house legal team with a demonstrated understanding of outside counsel management, e-billing, and financial management (global experience is a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with e-billing technology (Brightflag preferred) and familiarity with matter management tools.
  • Strong technical acumen and comfort with legal tech and process implementation, administration, and adoption.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects from initiation through execution, with strong change management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with experience turning data into insights and actionable recommendations.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a track record of improving processes and delivering measurable results.
  • Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across teams.
