Full Job Description

About the Team

The Learning Experience Design (LXD) team is part of Workday's Revenue Enablement organization, and we play a critical role in how Workday's global Go-To-Market (GTM) teams learn, grow, and deliver results. We design and develop the learning experiences that prepare our sellers, customer success professionals, and partners to bring Workday's solutions to life for customers around the world.

Our curriculum spans product launch readiness, sales process and tools, skills development, and leadership development — all delivered through a range of formats including interactive e-learning, virtual and in-person instructor-led training, video, job aids, simulations, and assessments. We are passionate about using modern learning science and AI-powered tools to make every learning moment count. Our team is collaborative, innovative, and energized by the challenge of turning complex concepts into clear, engaging experiences that directly influence seller productivity, drive subscription revenue, and enhance the Workday customer experience.

About the Role

As a Manager of Learning Experience Design, you will lead a global team of LXD professionals who own the end-to-end design and development of learning experiences for Workday's revenue-generating teams. You are the person who sets the standard for what great learning looks like across the organization — and you'll coach your team to consistently deliver at that level.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of complex instructional design projects, from scoping and planning through delivery, ensuring high-quality work is completed on time and aligned with Workday's goals. You will also define Workday's learning management governance model for Revenue, Customer Experience, and Partner learning materials.

Beyond day-to-day delivery, you will be a champion of innovation on the team — staying current with advances in learning science, instructional technology, and AI-powered development, and bringing new approaches into your team's work to elevate learner engagement and on-the-job readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of Learning Experience Design professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in instructional design
  • Guide the design and development of a wide range of learning assets — including interactive e-learning modules, virtual and in-person instructor-led training (vILT/ILT), videos, job aids, simulations, and assessments — using modern authoring tools and content delivery channels
  • Oversee scoping, management, and delivery of complex instructional design projects from start to finish, coaching the team to manage timelines, collaborators, and resources effectively
  • Review and validate the quality of learning content created by cross-functional teams, ensuring courses meet Workday’s learning experience standards, align with governance expectations, and support a consistent learner experience.
  • Scope and define Workday's learning management governance model for Revenue, CX, and Partner learning materials
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to measure learning effectiveness and business impact, using data-driven insights to continuously improve enablement programs
  • Stay current with advances in learning science, instructional technology, and enablement best practices — including AI-powered development — and coach the team to adopt new approaches that enhance learner engagement

About You

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in instructional design or learning experience design in a corporate environment, working within complex global organizations
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, leading learning experience designers, content creators, or curriculum managers
Other Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), with the ability to translate these frameworks into practical, high-impact learning programs for revenue-generating teams such as Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services
  • Proficient with the LXD technology landscape, including authoring tools (e.g., Sana Learn, Articulate 360 Suite, Synthesia), LMS platforms (e.g., Workday Learning, Cornerstone OnDemand), video editing software (e.g., Camtasia, Google Vids), content management platforms (e.g., Seismic, Highspot), and AI tools (e.g., Gemini, NotebookLM, Claude, ChatGPT), with experience coaching others in their use
  • Experienced in measuring learning effectiveness and business impact through data analysis, including defining KPIs, interpreting performance data, and using insights to refine and improve enablement programs
  • Skilled in managing complex, multi-workstream projects in a fast-paced global environment, including scoping, resource planning, timeline management, and cross-functional coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and growth opportunities that help individuals build their skills and advance their careers
  • 5+ years of experience in the technology industry, ideally in B2B enterprise SaaS
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to adapt your style to different audiences, present to senior leaders, and collaborate effectively across teams

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
