TheManager, IT Endpoint Engineering & Operationsis a hands-on technical leadership role accountable for the engineering, strategy, and operational excellence of Toromont's endpoint and end-user technology ecosystem across theentire organization.This role owns the full technology stack that powers how employees work: endpoint fleet engineering (Intune, SCCM/MECM, Autopilot), VDI strategy, application packaging, endpoint security co-ownership, identity and device trust, meeting room and collaboration technology, and the organization's ITSM platform and CMDB. The Manager leads a team of technical engineers, elevating the function from a legacy, support-driven model into a proactive, modernization-focused engineering discipline that defines standards for the broader IT organization to execute against.This is a change-agent role: the successful candidate will bring a demonstrated track record of transforming complacent or reactive technical teams into high-performing, engineering-minded organizations, and will be measured on modernization outcomes, automation maturity, and technology adoption - not ticket volume or support metrics.

Compensation

$103,625.00- $129,532.50

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Define and leadthe strategy, architecture, and engineering of the organization's endpoint management platforms (Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, Autopilot,Apple OSX/iOS,,Android Enterprise), driving modernization of device provisioning, patching, compliance, and application packaging across the full device fleet.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of technical engineers, building a high-performing, engineering-first culture. Set clear performance expectations and modernization-tied KPIs, drive accountability, and transform the function from a legacy, escalation-driven support model into a proactive technology organization.
  • Define device standards (make, model, OS, and platform selection) that Service Desk and other operational teams execute against; own device lifecycle strategy (refresh cycles, end-of-life planning) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure/DaaS strategy and engineering (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365).
  • Own and maintain the organization's ITSM platform, including configuration, workflow design, and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accurate asset and configuration data that is downloaded to Service Desk for day-to-day operational use.
  • Co-own endpoint security posture in partnership with the Security team, including endpoint detection and response (EDR) health, disk encryption compliance, conditional access and device trust (Entra ID/Azure AD), and privilege management.
  • Define and leadthe strategy and engineering of meeting room and collaboration technology (Microsoft Teams Rooms,Webex, Zoom,Google Meet, etc) and digitalsignage across all corporate locations, ensuring modern, reliable, and consistent user experiences.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across the endpoint environment (PowerShell scripting, Intune Proactive Remediations, self-healing tooling) and provide reporting on modernization KPIs, compliance, and engineering maturity to IT leadership.


Must-haves for this role:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years working experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, SCCM/MECM, and Autopilot for enterprise-scale device provisioning, patching, and compliance management.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting VDI/DaaS platforms (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Windows 365)
  • Demonstrated experience owning an ITSM platform and CMDB, including configuration, workflow governance, and data integrity.
  • Strong understanding of Entra ID/Azure AD, conditional access, device compliance, and endpoint security fundamentals.
  • Proven track record leading and transforming technical teams - coaching engineers, raising performance standards, and building an engineering-first culture.
  • Automation and scripting experience (PowerShell) to drive proactive remediation and reduce manual effort.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy for business and executive audiences.
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager/Jamf and Android Enterprise management is considered an asset.
  • Experience with meeting room and collaboration technology (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms) and digital signage platforms.
  • Experience operating in a large, multi-site enterprise environment (8,000+ employees).
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, ITIL Foundation, or VMware/Citrix VDI certifications.
