Manager, Inventory Accounting - req1692

OVERVIEW

Manage and oversee CMSU inventory and associated costs, as it relates to the financial impact on the general ledger.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a remote, home office based role located in the USA.

Specifically, the selected candidate should reside in, or near, Orange County, Ca. (Ideally: Tustin, Orange, Lake Forest, Corona)
  • Manage and oversee the movement of inventory balances in and out of perpetual inventory, particularly as they impact the general ledger.
  • Oversee warranty flow, warranty claims and related reconciliations.
  • Conduct annual physical inventory audit, including preparation, process oversight and reconciliation of variances with all involved departments. Provide procedures for PI audit, reports and Post-PI Reconciliation.
  • On-going inventory reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies as needed. Answering questions about the proper method of correcting inventory issues as they arise. Ensuring proper financial impact for all reconciliation.
  • Review inventory obsolescence with operations and validate inventory reserve in accordance with the reserve policy.
  • Prepare lower of cost or NRV analysis at year end or as needed.
  • Assist with inventory budgeting process and inventory optimization levels.
  • Responsible for internal/external audits related to inventory accounting, and ensuring compliance to GAAP/SOX.
  • Develop and publish inventory accounting procedures. Provide training as necessary.
  • Responsible for monitoring all GL accounts directly related to inventory and resolving discrepancies.
  • Responsible for oversight of inventory transactions/adjustment processing, including data accuracy, proper authorization, and validation of the accounting impact.
  • Monitor inventory costing. Ensure that inventory items are properly costed in the Item master file and facilitate costing updates when required, includes material overhead analysis and PPV analysis.
  • Support groups within the Finance organization, both at the local company level and parent company level, with various reporting related to inventory (Insurance Declaration Documents, WIP Staging for cost accounting, DIVA Month End closing and analysis, and related party reporting, etc.).
  • Projects and process improvements, as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with integrated computer business systems, Oracle preferred.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, planning and analytical skills.
  • Professional relational skills. Having the ability to build and maintain positive business relationships within Canon America Medical Systems as well as with groups outside of CMSU (Internal/External auditors, vendors, outside consultants).
  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree Business degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years Experience managing inventory systems with impact to the general ledger, with three years direct supervision of staff.
  • Pay Information: Min $99,800 to Max $160,600 (DOE)
