A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Manager II, Technical Training is responsible for designing, executing, and evaluating technical and craft training programs, integrating safety and quality training, in direct alignment with Blattner's Operational Performance strategy. This role serves as a performance partner to Operations: translating field capability gaps into targeted interventions, building systems that support a culture of craft development, and helping Operations own its outcomes.
STEP INTO THE ROLE
- Partners with field leaders and OP professionals to identify crew capability gaps, co-develop training responses, and verify that interventions translate into measurable performance. Builds the kind of partnership where field leaders engage TD&P early.
- Builds credibility and buy-in with field leadership by demonstrating that training investments lead to safe, quality performance execution. Communicates the connection between learning strategy and field execution in plain operational language.
- Designs training metrics that measure field performance impact, including craft capability improvement, safety leading indicators, and productivity outcomes. Reports results in operational terms that field leadership and senior leaders recognize and act on.
- Designs and develops craft training programs grounded in field performance needs. Builds and deploys field and classroom curriculum, assessments, and competency profiles that translate directly into crew capability rather than compliance checkboxes.
