Job Overview

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the overall product strategy, go-to-market execution, and leadership of the Fiber Systems product line. This role is responsible for managing fiber optic products, including cables, assemblies, connectivity, enclosures, and tools, to ensure financial performance including revenue, profitability, and new product sales. The PM will manage the product line portfolio, market and customer insights, new product commercialization, and product lifecycle management. This role will work cross functionally across the organization to develop strategic business and marketing plans, execute projects, and achieve business objectives. The individual should be highly analytical, organized, tactically oriented, and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.

A Day In The Life

  • Provides leadership for assigned product lines by establishing annual marketing plans, product development roadmaps, line growth strategy, and financial operating plans.
  • Drive profitable top line and market share growth through business development, new products, and marketing efforts.
  • Recognized as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for assigned product lines. Provides support and education for stakeholders including field sales, channel partners and customers.
  • Maintains close working relationships with Sales, distributor partners and customers to identify new opportunities, develop custom products, and grow sales.
  • Aggregates sales and customer feedback, pricing levels, competition and proposals pertaining to responsible product area.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to ensure alignment between manufacturing capacity and service with market demand.
  • Stays abreast of technological advances and industry trends to develop a competitive strategy to improve market position, develop new products, and grow the product line. Communicate these changes to business team and management.
  • Establishes effective communication channels and working relationships across the organization to provide pertinent, timely and accurate information. Present to all levels of the organization and successfully communicate sophisticated issues and business cases.
  • Responsible for keeping management advised of the progress, status and direction of assigned product lines and projects, including overall trends in the marketplace.
  • Develops and implements a marketing strategy for assigned product lines that includes promotions, marketing collateral, merchandising and alternate channels to market.
  • Supports sales and business efforts by participating in a variety of training events, trade shows, market development programs and industry association committees.
