Manager II, Plant

The Operations Manager - Siteworks, leads three plant locations, which includes 80 employees, and a total revenue scope of $100 million annually. This position is responsible for all functions required to manage a manufacturing plant. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that we satisfy our customers by profitably and safely delivering high-quality products on time.

The Siteworks Operations Manager is responsible to coordinate with and drive timely execution of the 220 and 290 product lines from our Service Centers and Reps. In this capacity, the candidate will coordinate to ensure sufficient stocking at the forward deployed locations and timely on time shipment to end customers.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that we satisfy our customers by profitably and safely delivering high quality products on time.

The position reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations and Supply Chain

Reporting to the position are three product line operations.

  • Plan, organize, and control plant operations, utilizing the Zurn Elkay Business System and lean principles to achieve divisional objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash Flow
  • Drive a culture focused on safety compliance championing best practices and ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment
  • Design and implement necessary improvements to maintain a safe, clean, energy efficient and well-organized facility
  • Through the Zurn Elkay annual Strategic Planning and Strategy Deployment processes, define improvement priorities which have the greatest impact to customers, stakeholders and associates; deploy strategy to and engage team to deliver on the strategic objectives
  • Represent operations in the Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning (SIOP) process
  • Pro-actively analyze operational metrics, making and driving process improvements within manufacturing, supply chain, and sourcing
  • Foster a culture of Total Associate Engagement
  • Manage and improve salaried and hourly performance through exceptional utilization of the performance ownership process through goal setting, training, development, and performance evaluation
  • P&L responsibility for the facility
  • Responsible for ensuring overall adherence by all associates to site quality procedures. Provide leadership and direction to the plant leadership teams.
  • Lead strategy deployment for the plant initiatives and growth. Lead manufacturing functions to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Accelerate value creation for our customers through responsive end-to-end supply chain performance and prompt resolution to customer inquiries
  • Work cross functionally with the following departments: finance, quality, customer care, engineering, information technology, purchasing and production control and planning


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain or engineering
  • 8-10 years of direct experience in manufacturing leadership preferably within a large, professionally managed manufacturing company.
  • Demonstrated history of change management and experience starting a new line or operation
  • Strong track record of implementing operations Continuous Improvement using lean tools such as Value Stream Maps, 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, Single Piece Flow, Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), Production Preparation Process (3P), Strategy Deployment, Visual Management, and Daily Management.
  • Demonstrated senior level experience leading operational teams to achieve significant and quantifiable business results.
  • Strong team building skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and executive management.

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP and CRM applications, with an emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Travel up to 50% during first year of start-up and dropping to less than 25% after operation start up in 2027


Performance Ownership Goals
  • Achieve Business Plan objectives for growth by ensuring adequate Operational capacity exists for Siteworks sites
  • Deliver monthly FNS goals for 220 and 290 product lines for all sites
  • Develop process to monitor and drive Significant Improvement in Key operating Metrics for Siteworks plant, service centers and reps for 220 and 290 product lines
  • Develop "Injury Free" culture and deliver on Zero Recordables/No Lost Time Days for Siteworks sites
  • Develop and implement "Defect free" culture for all Siteworks site
  • Develop and implement Inventory accuracy for all Siteworks sites
  • Significantly improve CI employee involvement across utilizing ZEBS tools
  • Improve TAE scores for all Sitework sites
  • Lead AIPs as assigned
  • Achieve cost savings for Siteworks site as per Business Plan
