Oversee and lead a team of Business Analysts / Specialists with accountability for delivering business requirements on a broad range of Regulatory Reporting projects and/or programs varying in risk, size and complexity while aligning to business strategies. Provide leadership, direction and coaching to develop skills and organizational capabilities to meet/exceed strategic goals and achieve business results.

Key Accountabilities

Customer
  • Manage and lead a team of Business Analysts / Specialists and oversee related business analysis activities and deliverables aligned to a broad range of business clients/segments
  • Lead a team and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders; communicate effectively by adapting style and technique to a diverse audience
  • Collaborate with and influence partners, sponsors and businesses to make effective business decisions
  • Build and grow talent by developing skills and capabilities to ensure project success, achieve business results and improve the end to end customer experience
  • Provide support and input to the required documentation/deliverables and monitor/assess to mitigate risks, ensure quality outputs and track progress
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure the team possesses a strong understanding of the end to end customer approach when making decisions within projects/programs
  • Provide leadership guidance to team and stakeholders to build effective relationships that support business goals
  • Support team with customer problem resolution to pro-actively identify potential issues and support the resolution of issues/escalations or redirect as appropriate
  • Oversee, manage and prioritize resource allocation on projects and ensure appropriate level of expertise and capabilities are assigned to initiatives
  • Ensure process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately and timely
  • Act as a consultant / resource to business partners and stakeholders at all levels by promoting and developing awareness of business analysis, requirements discipline and best practices
  • Provide insight, information and recommendations to the BA community of practice to align with enterprise & industry best practices


Shareholder
  • Support team in managing and building positive relationships with project team members, business, technology, vendor and key stakeholders
  • Manage the project in-take process and allocate resources based on skills and capabilities while setting clear expectations on work packages to effectively lead project delivery
  • Manage, oversee and prioritize resources to effectively support projects based on business need to achieve project benefits
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in the delivery of requirements for projects which are based on project governance level, complexity and risk: align decisions to TD's risk appetite
  • Maintain high level of awareness of current enterprise, industry trends and best practices as it relates to Business Analysis and is considered a subject matter expert with advanced knowledge of the business analysis discipline
  • Provide guidance/support with the delivery of the business case and requirements documentation with focus on reusability, scalability, innovation and enterprise solutions
  • Review the quality of artifacts and track individual progress based on performance measures/metrics
  • Contribute to the development of templates, best practices, learning tools and professional development that will drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee deliverables for project delivery and align with TD's Enterprise discipline, best practices and governance
  • Lead and participate in the BA community of practice and identify advocates for best practices related to the BA profession
  • Ensure team maintains compliance and procedure guidelines to support satisfactory audit results
  • Provides guidance and support to Business Analysts to define measures of success as defined in the project charter
  • Provides support and guidance in the delivery of business requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of Business Analysts in the delivery of requirements on projects which are based on the project governance level, complexity and risk
  • Oversee business expenses and FTE plans and ensure controls in place to monitor, effectively track and manage to established plans


Employee / Team
  • Lead and coach a team to execute work packages associated with Tier 1-5 projects/programs
  • Provide coaching, development, succession planning, recruitment, resource management and overall team leadership and provide regular input into Business Analysts assessment of performance through coaching and development plans
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to team and peers across business segments
  • Lead and motivate stakeholders, business sponsors, executives and LoB to support organizational goals
  • Identify and set targets, performance measures/metrics and objectives for the team and track progress
  • Grow team expertise in the business analysis discipline and continually look for opportunities fo development
  • Foster a positive and cohesive team environment / culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism
  • Support annual employee survey and active participation in action planning
  • Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
  • Ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest or matters affecting work
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business and/or team
  • Establish effective relationships across multiple LoB, partners and Program/Project Managers
  • Celebrate team accomplishments and successes through effective use of the Reward and Recognition programs

Breadth & Depth
  • Manages a team of Business Analysts that are assigned to projects ranging in size, complexity and risk while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project success and achieve business results
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards
  • Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Coordinates and prioritizes multiple initiatives and manages resource allocation
  • Establishes effective relationships with different Stakeholders, Business Sponsors, Executives and LoB
  • Significant resource management responsibilities (includes people management)
  • Provides support and contributes to the overall business analysis discipline and strategy for respective areas
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to BA practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Generally reports to a Senior Manager or above


Experience & Education
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Business Analysis Accreditation is an asset
  • 7+ year related business analysis experience
  • 5+ years working experience with Regulatory Reporting that can include jurisdictions such as OSC, CFTC, EMIR, MiFID, SFTR, MAS, CIRO, BOI
