ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a
Manager I - Site Safety to lead safety initiatives across large-scale and complex construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing site-specific safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can balance field engagement with program oversight while mentoring safety professionals and influencing site leadership.
A DAY IN THE LIFE- Lead a team of Safety Professionals in planning, implementing, and overseeing safety initiatives across complex project sites
- Promote continuous development of team members through training, feedback, and professional development
- Direct the application of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards
- Monitor site activity for unsafe behaviors, ensure corrective actions are taken, and escalate critical issues as needed
- Provide leadership in implementing advanced safety programs, including consistent execution of the Capacity Model
- Oversee and lead incident investigations using root cause analysis and regulatory compliance processes
- Serve as a subject matter expert, coaching safety teams, site leadership, and subcontractors on hazard identification and prevention
- Ensure compliance with Drug & Alcohol Testing, Medical Treatment, and Return-to-Work programs
- Direct audit processes, review findings with leadership, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented
- Lead HSE risk assessments and oversee development of Risk Assessment Matrices across trades
- Provide guidance on safety policies and procedures to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Develop and execute site-specific safety communication plans
- Lead safety portions of project startup, including emergency response planning, site orientation, and safety materials deployment
- Ensure execution and readiness of Emergency Response Plans
- Oversee collection and analysis of safety data and mentor team members in data-driven decision-making
- Ensure preparation and review of complex safety reports, including Serious Event Reports (SER)
WHAT YOU NEED - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Health, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive construction safety experience
- Ability to lead safety programs across large-scale or complex projects
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and investigation processes
- Valid driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to relocate to project site
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART - BCSP certification (or working toward certification)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of electrical safety, crane safety, and structural safety practices
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including large group settings
- Ability to influence site leadership and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Visio preferred)
- Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze safety performance metrics
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational and safety priorities
Work Environment & Travel- Approximately 75% of time spent in the field
- Frequent interaction with crews, subcontractors, and site leadership
- Required relocation to project site
- Travel as required based on project needs

$104,177.00 - $151,058.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
