Full Job Description
The Manager, Human Resources, is responsible for delivering exceptional HR service and support through strong operational leadership, benefits administration, and process oversight. This role leads a team member-focused HR service model, including a function that serves as an access point for team member and leader support. The Manager, Human Resources ensures HR programs are accessible, accurate, compliant, and responsive, creating a welcoming, informative, and well-organized HR experience that supports engagement, trust, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a high-touch HR support model, including HR coordinators who manage the HR support for team members.


  • Ensure HR coordinators are trained, informed, and empowered to answer questions related to benefits, onboarding, policies, HR systems, and general employment matters, escalating issues appropriately when needed.


  • Establish standard operating procedures, manages workflows, and sets service expectations to ensure consistent, timely, and professional support of team members.


  • Monitor trends in team member inquiries to identify opportunities for education, process improvement, and enhanced communication.


  • Create a welcoming and approachable HR presence that encourages team members to seek assistance and guidance.


  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of all team member benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement (401(k)), and ancillary plans.


  • Lead annual open enrollment planning and execution, including system configuration, vendor coordination, team member communications, and education sessions.


  • Conduct regular audits of benefit enrollments, eligibility, billing, and payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and financial integrity.


  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert for benefits programs, supporting HR coordinators and providing guidance on more complex benefit-related questions.


  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve benefit issues and continuously improve the team member benefits experience.


  • Oversee effective use of HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) to support HR operations, benefits administration, onboarding, and reporting.


  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.


  • Utilize reporting and analytics to track volumes and types of HR inquiries, onboarding metrics, benefits participation, and operational effectiveness.


  • Support adoption of HR systems and tools through clear documentation, job aids, and hands-on support for both team members and HR staff.


  • Ensure HR processes and benefit programs comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and industry regulations.


  • Maintain sensitive team member information with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.


  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows, improve service delivery, and enhance the overall team member experience.


Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related areas and five (5) years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Microsoft Office software knowledge required to include Word and Excel. HRIS systems experience required to include Workday.


Work Environment:

  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times when you will need to be in operating areas. In these areas, you may be exposed to environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke and excessive noise.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
