Job Overview:
This leadership position drives and supports the business and employees activities throughout the employment lifecycle. This requires an HR professional who takes a hands-on approach.The role has a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, and operations.The operational aspect includes both home office and oversight of Project sites which will more normally be within the Americas. The position is responsible for the effective operation of the office-based team and member development in addition to ensuring project HR teams perform effectively and timely for services required.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Define and delegate responsibilities within the HR teams and ensure progress, delivery and accuracy of professional service standard
  • Create collaborative relationships to support project delivery with the management team and represent the teams efforts at home office and from projects Representative of the HR function in management meetings for West Hemisphere
  • Foster collaborative relationships to ensure an understanding of business needs and with a future focused attention to the detail of what may be needed
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to all HR team members to facilitate their effective role delivery and ongoing developmen
  • Work within defined parameters can make decisions and apply concepts to issues of high complexity and resolve issues through immediate actio
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and guidance on general HR inquiries related to policies and processes and other general HR matters, including employee relations, benefits, talent development, and payroll
  • Interface and management of activities and service of HR support for relevant locations via a Shared Service Center (GPS) and ensuring understanding and improvements are appropriately managed
  • Manage recruitment activities in line with business requirements
  • Manage the offer process by ensuring offer letters and employment contracts are issued in accordance with Company policy, local laws, and regulations in tandem with the Talent Acquisition team
  • Manage the onboarding and off-boarding processes, which include conducting orientation sessions, exit interviews, and system updates
  • Develop terms and conditions with the relevant COEs for domestic and international assignments in liaison with the Senior Director HR
  • Manage international and domestic moves which could be long or short term
  • Ability to understand the complexity of construction projects and processes
  • Manage talent management processes, including annual initiatives such as talent review, succession planning, and goals setting.
  • Manage compensation processes such as salary reviews and promotions, including annual initiatives such as merit review.
  • Partner with HR COEs on global initiatives and work with counterparts within LCS to promote consistency (excepting required jurisdictional differences)
  • Identify with management and within HR of projects what will enhance and continually improve the HR offering within the location and projects.
  • Identify pinch points and develop timely solutions to minimize negative impacts on the business
  • Responsible for maintenance of or oversight of HR and other systems as required.
  • Responsible for generating monthly and ad hoc HR reports by compiling, transforming, and visualizing data.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and innovations to drive efficiencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and approve procedural documentation to accurately reflect business process.
  • Manage a team of HR Generalists/ Business Partners.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams.
  • Travel to site locations will be necessary for the effective performance of this role and may require hands-on support.


Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Resources related topics preferred but not essential
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a similar or Senior HR role within a project led global organization
  • Experience working within matrix organizations with the ability to build credibility with senior level employeesExperience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Experience in project project-based environments both domestic and international would be beneficial for understanding on the environment
  • Effective problem solving and creativity to reach positive solutions
  • Inspiring leadership style with a focus on service delivery
  • A detailed understanding of HR principles and practices and continuous improvement focused
  • Experience confidence and proficiency with HR Systems, e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.
  • Practical experience in a change environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build trusted relationships
  • Capability to apply discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality
