Role impact:

The Manager, Human Resources partners with departments and Human Resources to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with CF's business strategy and plans.This role is the key client contact for people processes and service delivery that includes employee relations, labour relations, recruitment, talent attraction, talent management, and performance management in support of the organizations continued growth through culture and capability.

What you will deliver:

  • Acting as a relationship manager to specified client groups, is responsible for ensuring communication and alignment on business issues and areas of opportunity.
  • Manage end to end recruitment for client groups, including sourcing strategies, providing support and guidance in the interview process, and executing compensation recommendations / offers. Act as a resource in ensuring a positive employee onboarding experience.
  • Participates in business and people planning, helps shape strategies, leads resource planning, and shares insights within Human Resources.
  • Identifies relevant patterns and trends within client groups with a focus on areas of criticality; provides insights and recommended actions; liaises with internal Human Resources, as required. Contributes to the coaching and mentoring of people leaders in foundational HR areas.
  • Builds relationships and provides guidance to the business management teams in implementing organizational, managerial and employee capability in areas such as succession planning and talent identification, leadership, employee development, employee engagement and retention, and organizational structure. This includes assisting in the identification of, and creation of career development plans for, key and/or high potential talent.
  • Stays current on local market trends, compensation data and best practices and makes recommendations to Total Rewards, when required.
  • Act as a consultant and coach to managers on employee and labour relations issues such as, performance, discipline, or investigations while ensuring any actions taken are within corporate and legislative requirements and are carried out in a consistent, non-discriminatory, reasonable and fair manner.
  • Partners with internal Human Resources to ensure that the communication and execution of all programs and processes are executed in an integrated and optimal manner.
  • Partner with the business on all structural changes by providing HR expertise on people aspects. This includes interpreting agreements, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation, developing communication plans, providing financial recommendations and implications, and ensuring the overall fair treatment of employees.
  • Provide advice on termination processes and severance packages ensuring that employees are treated in a respectful manner and that CF's exposure to litigation is mitigated.
  • Advise and assist department managers on the interpretation and administration of human resource programs, policies and procedures with a focus on enhancing manager capability. Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of provincial legislation and statutes as they pertain to employment issues to ensure corporate wide compliance and positive employee relations.

What you need to succeed:

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • CHRL/ CHRPbeneficial

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $81,433 to $108,577. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range. Cadillac Fairview offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to base pay which may include a performance - based incentive plan, a comprehensive pension and benefits plan, paid time off including vacation, well-being & volunteer days and support for continued growth and development.
