Full Job Description
West Monroe is seeking a Manager to join our Healthcare Practice team. Our team partners with health plans and dental plans to uncover opportunities, develop clear roadmaps, and deliver measurable improvements in outcomes. As a Manager, you will serve as a client service leader responsible for managing complex client engagements, leading multidisciplinary teams, building trusted client relationships, and driving measurable business outcomes. You will play a key role in growing client accounts, developing our consulting talent, and contributing to the continued growth of the Healthcare Practice.
Responsibilities
Client Delivery
  • Lead end-to-end client engagements, managing scope, budget, timelines, profitability, multiple workstreams, and overall delivery quality
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on business transformation and operational improvement initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement processes and technology that drive business value and improve operational efficiency across business and technical functions
  • Partner with executive and business stakeholders to define future-state operating models, business processes, and transformation roadmaps
  • Facilitate executive workshops to define strategic vision, business requirements, and implementation priorities across the healthcare ecosystem
  • Oversee solution evaluations and recommendations aligned with leading healthcare industry practices
  • Manage project risks, ensure adherence to quality assurance, legal, and risk management standards, and proactively resolve delivery challenges
  • Lead multiple engagements concurrently while ensuring high-quality client outcomes and strong client satisfaction
  • Leverage AI tools to improve delivery quality, accelerate project execution, and create greater value for clients
Project & Engagement Leadership
  • Own engagement planning, staffing, financial management, project reporting, and overall delivery governance
  • Develop executive-level communications, steering committee materials, implementation plans, and strategic recommendations
  • Monitor engagement financial performance, proactively managing scope, budgets, profitability, and resource allocation
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams while coaching consultants and senior consultants throughout delivery
  • Foster strong collaboration across West Monroe and client teams to ensure successful project execution
Business Development
  • Participate in pursuits for new clients, change orders, and engagement extensions
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through proactive account management and organic growth conversations
  • Support proposal development, solution design, client presentations, and sales strategy
  • Build trusted relationships with healthcare executives and contribute to expanding West Monroe's presence within the market
  • Represent West Monroe through industry events, networking, and thought leadership activities
Practice Development
  • Coach, mentor, and develop consultants and senior consultants while serving as a Career Advisor
  • Help recruit, interview, and retain top consulting talent
  • Develop and enhance methodologies, tools, reusable assets, and delivery approaches that improve engagement quality and consistency
  • Share healthcare industry expertise across the practice and contribute to knowledge development
  • Participate in internal initiatives that strengthen West Monroe's culture, collaboration, and inclusive community
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 6+ years of consulting experience working directly with external healthcare clients, including experience leading client engagements and managing consulting teams
  • Strong understanding of healthcare payer and/or dental plan operations
  • Experience leading large transformation initiatives involving organizational transformation, process improvement, operating model design, technology implementation, or product development
  • Demonstrated experience managing engagement scope, budgets, project financials, staffing, and multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience leading cross-functional consulting teams and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior and executive-level stakeholders
  • Experience leading business development activities, including proposals, client presentations, account expansion, and identifying follow-on opportunities
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel to client sites (30-50%)

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
