Full Job Description
As part of our mission to keep seniors healthy and independent, the Corporate Development Manager will understand SCAN's enterprise & business unit priorities to identify opportunities where external assets can contribute to the goal. This includes opportunities for portfolio company collaboration, outside investments, strategic partnerships, mergers/acquisitions, and opportunistic incubations.

**We're seeking a more junior-level strategic leader with experience managing and mentoring analysts, overseeing complex analytical work, and serving as a trusted thought partner to executives. The successful candidate will have a track record of incorporating AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency and elevate strategic output, while leading initiatives related to partnerships, growth opportunities, and CEO-prioritized projects. Prior direct people management experience is required; Los Angeles-based candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with other departments to ensure corporate development activities are aligned to company goals.
  • Support cross-functional corporate strategy engagements executed in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Support portfolio company reporting processes.
  • Assist in portfolio company management & operational support.
  • Support industry trend analysis and provide market perspective that will inform portfolio company, investment, and partnership strategies.
  • Source new deal opportunities.
  • Conduct deal due diligence.
  • Perform financial modeling and analysis.
  • Support negotiations and necessary SCAN Board / management team approval processes.
  • Record all deal information for reporting and trend analysis.
  • Support M&A integration processes as needed.
  • Developing relationships with internal stakeholders and key external partners.
  • Developing and refining key corporate development team operating systems.
  • Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field. A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education.
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, and/or corporate development in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with direct reports
  • Understanding of the US healthcare industry with industry work experience.
  • Strong executive presence.
