Full Job Description
This role is part of Alcon's Health, Safety & Environment function, a team dedicated to protecting our people, communities, and environment by ensuring safe workplaces and responsible environmental practices across the organization.

The Manager, Health, Safety & Environment Management (Professional Path) will lead and oversee multiple HSE initiatives, ensuring objectives are achieved through a combination of independent execution and effective oversight. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining programs that prevent workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents, while ensuring full compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, internal standards, labor agreements, and recordkeeping requirements.

Specifics Include:
  • Lead and manage multiple health, safety, and environmental projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery of objectives
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive HSE programs to prevent injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Identify root causes of incidents, implement corrective and preventive actions, and track effectiveness to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure compliance with internal company standards, GxP requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Identify and mitigate workplace hazards, including unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze records related to workplace injuries, illnesses, absences, and environmental metrics; prepare required regulatory reports
  • Develop, deliver, and manage environmental management and employee health and safety training programs, including safe work practices and PPE requirements
  • Take and evaluate preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous conditions, toxic substances, or dangerous forces as needed
  • Partner with engineering, operations, management, and regulatory authorities to address safety and environmental risks
  • Participate in OSHA inspections and support follow-up activities, including citation response and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain strong relationships with community members, environmental groups, and other internal and external stakeholders impacted by HSE performance
  • Apply strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and technical expertise to drive HSE excellence and organizational success
  • Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) requirements by following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, completing required training, and supporting quality standards
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement, employee well-being, and regulatory compliance


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST with flexibility required as business needs evolve.
  • Travel Requirements: 0% to 5%
  • Location: Onsite
