Purpose

The Manager, Business Risk Management is responsible for supporting the implementation of the operational risk framework tools, providing business support oversight (as delegated by Management) for Global Transaction Banking.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide support on risk and control assessments: Scope determination, facilitation of Kickoff meeting, identification of Risks and Controls, facilitation of working sessions to engage stakeholders and build consensus on control gaps that need to be addressed and corresponding action plans, and facilitation of executive signoffs from first and second line
  • Review draft assessments to ensure quality, completeness and consistency, follow up with strategic partners when required, and review submissions to Executives as required
  • Track and monitor completion of assessment action plans; providing guidance to business units on completion of action plans
  • Track and report status of third-party contracts, providing guidance to business units on completion of contracts and helping business with updating contracts on the system
  • Provide guidance to contract owners on requirements including completing questionnaires and applicable due diligence and follow up with contract owners with outstanding items
  • Support and challenge business units in the development of their key risk and/or performance indicators. Involves monitoring and tracking of breaches; providing consolidated monthly reporting partners and management
  • Provide input and updates to GTB Leadership outlining current status of audits, assessments, etc.
  • Responsible for implementation of the Bank's Non-Financial Risk Management Framework
  • Actively ensure the adequacy of controls to meet obligations, with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the associated frameworks
  • Support with operational resiliency initiatives
  • Support with fraud initiatives and the enhancement of fraud controls
  • Identify and address opportunities for improving controls and efficiencies of processes
  • Maintain strong relationships with business lines and applicable support and control functions to remain current on new developments and emerging risks
  • Review and provide feedback on product group requests

What You'll Bring:
  • University Degree/MBA/CFA or a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Expert/good working knowledge of internal controls
  • Demonstrate significant maturity, credibility and sound judgment in dealing with senior management across business lines, risk management and support groups
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in excel
  • Strong presentation skills
