Job Description
The Manager, Grant Programs supports the Visa Foundation's grantmaking strategy and implementation in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The role also oversees the execution of Visa Foundation Gives Program, a multi-year initiative dedicated to addressing local socio-economic issues in communities surrounding Visa's largest offices, globally, and to provide employees with new opportunities to support, engage with and volunteer in their communities.
Working with the Senior Director, Grants & Partnerships, this position will contribute to the development of the financial inclusion grantmaking strategy in LAC, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and access to capital. The Manager will proactively source, evaluate, and manage grant partnerships in collaboration with local and regional colleagues. They will be responsible for creating a forward-looking portfolio that integrates market trends, latest innovation in financial inclusion, and drives impact at scale.
Further, this position will manage the global deployment of the Visa Foundation Gives program, encompassing grantmaking in multiple cities within each of the Foundation's operating regions.
To be successful in this role, the Manager should be adept at working in matrixed, international organizations and demonstrate a strong track record in partnership development with financial institutions, global foundations, multilateral agencies and impact investors. The preferred candidate should have a passion for impact at scale, strong analytical skills, and a high degree of autonomy in a collaborative, global Foundation. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Grants and Partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Management (60%):
- Support the Sr. Director in identifying, developing and evaluating grantee partnerships in LAC that support the growth and resilience of small businesses through access to financial services, training, and other resources.
- Lead Visa Foundation's efforts that deepen Visa's community presence, specifically through Visa Foundation Gives.
- As needed, support the Sr. Director and President of Visa Foundation with grants that are directed by its Board of Directors.
Portfolio Management (20%):
- Assist with portfolio-wide analysis, financial and impact management.
- Help foster learning and connection across grants.
- Conduct quarterly and annual overviews in partnership with the Grants team as well as support the team with legal and operational tasks for grantees.
Internal and External Communication (20%):
- Support Visa Foundation leadership team with internal and external presentations, reports, and programmatic updates.
- Work closely with the communications team to elevate the work that the Foundation is leading.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Fluency in Spanish•
- Experience as a grant-maker, preferably with private foundations, with thorough knowledge of the policies and practices that govern them.
- Passionate about using grants and investments as a tool for supporting the growth of women-led MSMEs.
- Experience in a consulting or investment function is a plus.
- Ability to integrate technology into work. Expert level in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Stellar writing and editing abilities, as well as oral communications skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proven ability to connect dots among different work streams.
- Comfortable communicating with all levels of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, self-starter, and an exceptional work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple projects, often on short deadlines and under pressure.
U.S. Applicants OnlyThe estimated salary range for this position is $134,600.00 to $ 215,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
