Job Summary The Government Accounting Manager leads program financial management activities across multiple federal contracts, contract line items, and contract modifications, ensuring compliant general ledger operations aligned with company policy, company disclosed accounting practices, FAR, DFARS, and CAS. This role oversees cost accumulation, indirect rate monitoring, and incurred cost reporting, and supports forward pricing and contract financial controls. As a key business partner to Budget, Contract Management, Procurement, and Human Capital teams, the manager ensures accurate financial reporting and supports program execution by ensuring general ledger reporting is relevant and reliable. The position also leads government audit support activities, maintains financial documentation, and drives process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor's (BA/BS) Degree in Accounting or related field
• Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in general ledger review and analysis
• Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in management reporting and analysis of overhead rates
• Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience ensuring accounting compliance with disclosed accounting practices and federal standards
• Hands-on experience with indirect cost management and incurred cost submission
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint tools
• Experience conducting or supporting federal government contract audits
• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
Preferred: • Professional certifications or licensure such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other certification related to government accounting standards
Key Responsibilities • Work closely with the Accounting team on the monthly close; review account balances for compliance with disclosed accounting practice, company policy, FAR, DFARS, and CAS.
• Manage the incurred costs reporting and annual submission.
• Manage the overhead rate reporting and variance analysis.
• Support Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits.
• Support the development and submission of provisional billing rates and forward pricing rate proposals.
• Lead travel and expense review and reporting.
• Produce reporting that is timely, complete, thoughtful, understandable, and accurate.
• Ensure all procedures and documentation support departmental policies and procedures.
• Mentor, manage, and develop staff, including creation of individual goals and performance assessment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
