Job Summary The Manager, Accounting is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting functions for TriWest as well as oversight in specifically assigned financial analysis processes.
Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor's (BA/BS) Degree in Accounting or related field
• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• Five (5) years increasingly responsible management and/or supervisory experience or equivalent background
• Five (5) years General Ledger experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations
• Expertise with financial analysis and reporting
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred: • Certified Public Accountant
• Working knowledge of health care government contracts
• PeopleSoft or other ERM system experience
Key Responsibilities • Supervises Accounting staff in assigned area. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and develops staff.
• Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Coordinates and confers with department heads and staff to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Manages the fixed asset system. Coordinates with Materials Management and Accounts Payable to ensure that all assets are capitalized and depreciated in accordance with TriWest's policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and participates in the operations and procedures of Financial Reporting.
• Facilitates and supervises the preparation of periodic cost reports and budget analysis
• Develops various analyses for the annual budget and reforecast processes to provide senior management with decision making tools.
• Maintains, audits, and ensures the integrity of all financial reporting to include, but not limited to, monthly financial statements issued to internal and external bodies and annual reports issued for publication.
• Prepares and reviews all entries to the general ledger for reliability, propriety, and compliance with GAAP.
• Designs, implements, and enhances systems and procedures (manual and automated), including general ledger, fixed assets, enrollment, change orders, and year-end and interim audits.
• Ensures TriWest procedures and documentation support departmental policies and procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
