The Role
CAA’s Global Safety & Security team is seeking a qualified Manager, Global Event Security to lead security planning and on-site execution for high-profile productions, special events, and industry-facing engagements across CAA’s global footprint. This role is responsible for protecting talent, executives, staff, and guests across live events, activations, and productions, while ensuring alignment with CAA security standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
The Manager, Global Event Security serves as the security lead for CAA-supported events, accountable for the planning, coordination, and execution of security operations across all phases of an event lifecycle. This role combines risk assessment, protective intelligence, operational leadership, vendor management, and on-site incident command in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. The ideal candidate is decisive, collaborative, and experienced in leading complex event security operations involving multiple stakeholders, high-profile principals, and dynamic risk environments.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive Event Operations Plan for CAA-supported special events, including, screenings, festivals, CAA-sponsored events, award-season events, executive engagements, and other high-profile activations
Conduct venue and event-specific risk assessments, incorporating physical security vulnerabilities, operational exposures, protest activity, online rhetoric, reputational considerations, and local threat conditions
Conduct event-specific threat assessments in partnership with GSOC intelligence stakeholders to identify emerging risks, suspicious activity, protest concerns, and potential disruptions
Ensure adherence to CAA security standards, local regulations, and applicable safety, operational, and life safety protocols
Develop contingency and business continuity plans for security disruptions, emergency incidents, operational interruptions, and venue-specific emergency scenarios
Coordinate advance security planning for executive and talent movements, secure arrivals/departures, credentialing, restricted access zones, secure holding areas, and backstage / green room operations
Lead on-site security operations for events, serving as the primary security authority and operational lead for all event-related security matters
Serve as incident commander for security-related disruptions during live events until escalation or formal transfer of command
Oversee crowd management, screening protocols, and VIP / talent protection measures in coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners
Lead protective operations in coordination with Executive Protection and Talent teams for high-profile attendees, executives, and designated principals
Oversee deployment and operational use of event security systems including CCTV, access control systems, screening equipment, radio communications, and incident communications platforms
Coordinate with CAA executives, event leadership, production stakeholders, and internal partners to enforce security policy and resolve issues in real time
Respond to incidents and lead security-related problem solving during live operations in dynamic, high-pressure environments
Partner with CAA’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to support intelligence sharing, event monitoring, and real-time situational awareness
Monitor event-specific threats, demonstrations, online fixation, unauthorized access concerns, and emerging risk indicators in coordination with GSOC and intelligence partners
Liaise with law enforcement, fire, EMS, venue security, and emergency services as required
Source, contract, and manage security guard services, event security providers, screening personnel, and talent protection vendors
Oversee daily on-site and event security operations in coordination with contracted vendors and venue partners
Prepare, manage, and track security budgets for events, productions, and special activations
Evaluate vendor effectiveness, contract compliance, and operational performance to ensure alignment with CAA standards
Conduct security briefings, pre-event readiness reviews, for high-risk events, productions, and activations
Maintain event security playbooks, post orders, incident protocols, and escalation matrices for recurring and high-risk events
Define, track, and report key security metrics, incident trends, vendor performance, and operational insights to senior leadership
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required; degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience in event security, production security, corporate security, or large-scale operational security management
Proven experience leading security operations for live events, productions, executive engagements, or other high-profile environments
Experience supporting talent, executive, celebrity, or principal-facing environments strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, budgets, contract guard forces, and cross-functional stakeholders
Experience conducting risk assessments, threat assessments, and contingency planning for complex events
Knowledge of incident command principles, emergency response protocols, and crisis management best practices
Familiarity with CCTV, access control, screening technologies, radio systems, and security communications platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief executives and senior stakeholders clearly and concisely
Strong judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills in dynamic, high-pressure environments
International event security experience preferred
Regular on-site presence at event venues, productions, and activation sites
Ability to stand for extended periods, work outdoors, and move throughout large venues and event environments
Ability to lift and transport materials or equipment up to 25 60 pounds
Variable work hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel of approximately 25 35%, including domestic and international travel, depending on production and event schedules
Location
This role is on-site with travel requirements, based out of the Los Angeles office.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000 - $135,000 in Los Angeles. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
