Join Our Team as Head of Maintenance, Recoveries and Repairs – Lead Fleet Excellence and Operational Innovation!

Are you passionate about optimizing fleet operations, driving maintenance excellence, and leading high-performing teams? We are looking for a talented Head of Maintenance, Recoveries and Repairs to join our Mechanic & Repairs team within the broader Fleet function. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to shape the future of our fleet maintenance operations, maximize vehicle availability, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality repair solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic and operational performance of fleet maintenance across all workshop networks and repair facilities.
  • Optimize end-to-end repair processes to ensure maximum vehicle availability and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and inspire large teams and manage key external partners, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance analytics to ensure operational targets are met or exceeded.
  • Deliver and champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce vehicle downtime, control buy-back and reconditioning costs, and enhance overall operational outcomes.
  • Ensure all maintenance, recovery, and repair activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align maintenance strategies with broader business goals.
  • Report on operational KPIs, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance management, with a b track record of leading large teams or multiple sub-functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver measurable improvements in operational performance.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to achieve shared objectives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices in fleet maintenance and repairs.

Ideal Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior maintenance, recoveries, or repairs leadership role within a fleet, automotive, or related industry.
  • Experience managing workshop networks and end-to-end repair processes.
  • Background in driving cost efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing vehicle availability.
  • History of successful team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with buy-back, reconditioning, and fleet recovery operations is highly desirable.
