Fleet Manager Reporting to the Director- Fleet Services, this position will manage, direct, and lead all strategic operations and servicing functions with regards to the Vegetation Fleet, including acquisition and replacement, equipment leasing strategy, vendor and customer strategy and planning, remarketing and operational excellence.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:- Provide leadership, management and oversight of fleet and maintenance operations in the Vegetation companies. The role is the focal point to assess the current and future department needs in order to support Vegetation's customers and field operations teams.
- Partner with the Vegetation field management team on operational and strategic issues as they arise and provide strategic recommendations based on analysis and projections. Engage all members of the Vegetation field management team to align operational management with short and long-term planning and projections.
- Ensure efficient and effective process of vendor vehicle and equipment repairs, rapid turnaround of vehicles and equipment. Manage vendor fleet and maintenance quality assurance and quality control programs.
- Ensure efficient and effective process of the Department's Fleet Parts and Warranty call-in center.
- Ensure efficient and effective process of vehicle and equipment leasing strategies, including rapid acquisition and turn-in policies.
- Develop and analyze all operating metrics, providing guidance on trends and developing prompt actions to correct performance issues or inefficiencies while identifying opportunities to reduce expenses.
- Develop and manage department budget(s). Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies and budgets to drive improvement in margin and services.
- Participate as a member of the Fleet Department's senior management team in the development and implementation of organization-wide policies and programs that will contribute to its overall success.
- Working with the Vegatation Safety Team, design and implement appropriate policies and procedures to effectively ensure safety and fleet operation initiatives are maintained. Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement processes throughout field operations focusing on systems and process improvement.
- Manage complex projects to ensure timelines are met and product and services are delivered in a flawless and cost-effective manner.
- Research and implementation of new equipment programs that support the future needs of the Vegetation companies.
- Provide leadership and direct supervision of Fleet Department personnel as assigned. Assess talent and provide ongoing coaching and development and performance management to improve performance and overall team effectiveness. Foster a team environment and a strong service culture that ensures timely and quality-driven service to internal customers.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 10+ years direct experience in Fleet Management or Project Management
- Prior management role in a comparable size diverse, multi-location organization. Experience with large fleet management across a distributed business model.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in mechanical engineering, facilities engineering, transportation planning, public administration, business administration or a directly related field.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, business planning, financial analysis, negotiation, and customer satisfaction skills.
- Strong analytical skills and experience translating a strategic vision into an actionable operational model. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design and articulate solutions, and implement change.

Education & Experience- 10+ year(s) utility construction safety experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or other equivalent technical field required.
- Successful completion of a board safety certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) strongly preferred.
