We are currently looking for a
Manager, Financial Reporting at our
Edmonton corporate location.
What Moves You:- You take pride in the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting knowing that the statements, filings, and analysis you produce are relied upon by boards, lenders, and senior leadership to make consequential decisions.
- You're energized by technical accounting challenges and implementing standards that make an organization more compliant, more controlled, and more credible.
- You thrive at the intersection of technical depth and clear communication. You can work through a complex consolidation and then walk stakeholders through the results in language that lands.
- You're highly organized, take ownership seriously, and find real satisfaction in running critical processes end-to-end.
What You'll Do:- Own the preparation and distribution of quarterly and annual external financial filings including consolidated financial statements, accompanying notes, and management's discussion and analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and full IFRS compliance.
- Coordinate the annual external audit and manage all debt compliance documentation, including bank covenant calculations, compliance certificates, and other lending requirements, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Lead the annual budget process from planning through consolidation and presentation, delivering clear and actionable reporting to Senior Leaders and the Board of Directors.
- Partner with Executive Leadership, Corporate Directors, and external tax advisors on monthly variance reporting, financial controls, ad hoc analysis, and the company's overall tax strategy and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process - building and updating written policies, procedures, and controls that protect the organization and support sound financial governance.
- Manage and account for foreign exchange activities, including the accounting and administration of derivative instruments used for interest rate and foreign exchange risk management, as applicable.
What You'll Bring:- A CPA designation with strong technical IFRS accounting knowledge and proven hands-on experience in consolidation, external financial reporting, and financial controls.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating external audits, preparing board-level financial reporting, and working directly with senior stakeholders and external advisors in a complex organizational environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel alongside strong written and oral communication skills - you can build a detailed model and present the findings to a non-technical executive with equal confidence.
- Exceptional organizational skills and follow-through capability, with the ability to manage multiple high-stakes deliverables simultaneously without compromising accuracy or quality.
- Management experience is considered a meaningful asset, as is familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
