Job Description Summary:

Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the district-wide Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) program, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, compliance with standards, and effective delivery of capital and operational projects.

The FF&E Manager position receives general direction from higher-level administrative staff and exercises considerable independent judgment in managing departmental operations. The Manager is responsible for directing, supervising, and evaluating the performance of subordinate staff, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and goals. This role involves setting performance standards, providing coaching and development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative team environment. 

Competency Expectations 

  • Provide direction, supervision, and mentorship to staff; foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment; ensure compliance with institutional HR policies and employment regulations; and support professional development and performance management. 

  • May oversee unit-level budgeting and purchasing activities; ensure responsible fiscal management aligned with institutional priorities and public accountability standards.

  • Lead the development and use of reporting tools and data systems to support strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and compliance; interpret data to inform policy, operations, and service delivery.

  • Manage departmental programs and services to ensure alignment with institutional goals, timelines, and applicable regulations; coordinate with unit leadership to address operational needs and service enhancements.

  • Plan and allocate staff and operational resources to support unit goals, maintain service continuity, and respond to emerging institutional needs.

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Lead and manage FF&E staff, including performance evaluation, coaching, and professional development.

  • Establish and oversee district-wide FF&E strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with capital plans and institutional goals.

  • Develop and enforce FF&E standards, specifications, and governance processes; approve exceptions and drive continuous improvement.

  • Provide oversight of FF&E projects to ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are achieved.

  • Manage departmental budgets and contribute to capital project budgeting, ensuring fiscal responsibility and forecasting accuracy.

  • Oversee procurement strategies, vendor performance, and contract negotiations in compliance with institutional policies.

  • Serve as primary liaison for stakeholders, including executive leadership and external partners; resolve escalated issues.

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), safety regulations, and applicable laws.

  • Establish performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives across FF&E operations.

  • Oversee asset lifecycle planning, including replacement forecasting, warranties, and surplus management.

  • Plan and execute mid- to large-scale FF&E projects, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Understand and apply principles and practices associated with servant-leadership.

  • Understanding of student services processes and procedures, enrollment trends, ACC culture and academic curricula.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Four (4) years of related work experience or associate’s degree plus two (2) years of related work experience can be substituted for the required education (plus the required experience noted below).

Preferred Education:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Licensed Interior Designer or Architect (Texas preferred).

Experience:

  • Three (3) years related work experience including one (1) year supervisory experience.  

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in higher education, public sector, or large institutional environments.

Supplemental Experience:

  • Completion of the ACC Supervisor Certificate Series Program will satisfy the supervisory experience required for this position.

Salary Range (PG 126)

$88,465 - $110,581
