Job Description

The Manager, Events & Special Projects supports the planning and execution of internal and external events across Universal Television Entertainment and NBCUniversal. They will help shape the moments that connect our people, talent, partners, and audiences. They create vision, operate with precision, and have flawless follow-through.

Reporting to the SVP of Events & Operations, this role leads event production from concept through completion across Universal Television Entertainment and NBCUniversal. Responsibilities include managing the details that make an experience feel seamless, including creative design, venue and vendor sourcing, invitations, food and beverage, transportation, contracts, budgets, attendee experience, and onsite operations.

The role partners across the organization, contributes to larger-scale and high-profile events, and serves as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders, executives, talent, vendors, venues, and external partners.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

External & Internal Events
  • Lead end-to-end event production, including creative design, venues/vendors sourcing, invitations, F&B planning, transportation, research/contract negotiation, budget development and reconciliation across a wide range of activations - from premieres, press junkets, industry honors, award campaign events, and internal employee experiences
  • Contribute to larger-scale and high-profile events in partnership with senior team members, owning specific workstreams, logistics, vendors, or operational components within the broader program
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders throughout the planning and execution process, facilitating meetings, and ensuring clear communication and follow-through
  • Partner with HR to design and deliver experiential employee activations that reinforce company culture and foster connection across teams
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external vendors, venues, and partners - managing timelines, and deliverables from concept through execution
  • Provide onsite executive and talent support as needed
  • Work cross-functionally with external partners and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders (travel, security, AV, corporate services, etc.)
  • Manage attendee experience, onsite logistics, and event-day operations
  • Identify opportunities to scale and own post-event analysis, gathering feedback and evaluating the success of events based on pre-established goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to refine and monitor a standardized workflow process for event planning and management, driving consistency and alignment

Team Development
  • Co-supervise, mentor, and develop department coordinator and Pages, providing guidance, project ownership opportunities, and meaningful feedback
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment while helping junior team members strengthen their event management skills
  • Contribute to operational improvements, internal processes, and shared departmental resources
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends across hospitality, food and beverage, entertainment, venues, experiential marketing, and premium gifting

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in events, hospitality, entertainment, experiential marketing, production, client services, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading and executing events from concept through completion
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders, clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • The ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule

  • Solid project management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple events and timelines simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, production schedules, and vendor relationships
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented approach in high-pressure environments
  • The ability to guide and support project teams while fostering a collaborative working environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and event registration platforms

Additional Requirements:
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
