Full Job Description
The Opportunity

We are seeking an Environmental Professional to join and grow with the South Bow team. This is an opportunity to contribute your talents and energy in shaping a dynamic workplace where employees can thrive.

Reporting to the Director, HSSE, this role will be based in either the Houston or Calgary office and will be responsible for managing the Environmental Services team. As Manager, you will oversee the implementation of the Environmental Program and sub-programs to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Provincial regulations, as well as company best practices. The role also provides environmental subject matter expertise, counsel, and guidance to internal stakeholders, including operations, emergency management, engineering, projects, business development, legal, and asset management in the US and Canada. This role requires engagement with external stakeholders and regulatory agencies to support compliance approaches and positions, applying judgment and experience in interpreting regulatory requirements and policies across South Bow's operations.

The role leads a team of Emergency Management Specialists, ensuring regulatory compliance and readiness to respond effectively to emergencies. It also oversees the development and implementation of the Emergency Management Program to support organizational response and recovery, protect people, the environment, and operational assets, and maintain business continuity.

What You'll Do
  • Manage environmental compliance across federal, state, provincial, and local levels, including annual reporting for air, water, waste, and soil, as well as remediation, monitoring, vegetation management on facilities and rights-of-way (RoW), and environmental planning and permitting strategies.
  • Oversee implementation of the RoW Clearing Program, RoW Maintenance Program, Facility Civil Maintenance Program, and Post-Construction Restoration and Monitoring Programs.
  • Identify emerging environmental issues and trends, assess impacts, and develop mitigation strategies and company approaches. Review changes to legislation and regulations, assess impacts to the company, manage and validate controls to ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support environmental emergency response efforts, ensuring organizational readiness and effective response and recovery operations.
  • Manage Environmental and Emergency Management Program governance and compliance assurance. Provide environmental due diligence and prospecting support, support environmental community investment opportunities, and ensure projects are planned, developed, and constructed in alignment with corporate governance, compliance policies, and asset management objectives.
  • Lead and support responses to public, regulatory, and legal scrutiny of environmental matters.
  • Coordinate closely with Stakeholder teams on engagement with external groups, including regulatory agencies, local governments, Indigenous groups, communities, and landowners.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in an environmental professional role
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, judgment, and decision-making experience, including leading diverse teams
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to lead change and support others in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading effective teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and balance direct accountabilities with broader organizational demands
  • Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills
