Job Description:

Engineering Transformation Manager leads a team responsible for transforming process, and tools used in engineering development, validation, and quality. This role is accountable for delivering scalable, compliant, and high-impact solutions that improve productivity, quality, and cycle time across engineering organizations.

The manager bridges technology, engineering execution, and ensuring that solutions are not only technically effective but also quality standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and develop a team focused on Tech-enabled engineering and validation transformation.
  • Identify high-impact modernization opportunities for workflow automation and process redesign.
  • Manage AI initiatives end-to-end, from concept through division-wide scaling, with measurable results.
  • Set clear goals, KPIs, and roadmaps tied to productivity, quality, and cycle-time improvements.
  • Drive AI-assisted solutions in areas like code generation, code review, software development lifecycle and defect detection.
  • Advance analytics automation through GenAI and agentic AI capabilities.
  • Promote AI as a standard engineering capability, not just isolated experiments or pilots.
  • Lead cross-functional transformation efforts to embed AI into core engineering processes and scale successful pilots.
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals while communicating outcomes, risks, and building organizational capability through training and coaching.


What You Will Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or engineering tools, with hands-on AI/ML application experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Deep understanding of product development tools and process, large dataset management.
  • Experience leading AI transformation initiatives in validation, quality, or engineering domains.
  • Strong ability to translate AI capabilities into business value and operational outcomes.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $240,110.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
