Engineering Manager

Haag-Streit USA | Mason, Ohio | On-Site

Haag-Streit USA is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering department at our manufacturing facility in Mason, Ohio. This highly visible, hands-on leadership role will oversee our engineering team, including CNC programming and engineering support, while driving improvements in safety, quality, cost, production, and equipment reliability.

The Engineering Manager will also own the Engineering Change Request process from beginning to end and work closely with Operations and other departments to implement effective, sustainable manufacturing solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Engineering department, including CNC programmers and engineering support personnel.
  • Establish departmental priorities and ensure engineering goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Own the Engineering Change Request process, including cross-functional review, documentation, approval, and timely implementation.
  • Partner with the CNC programming team to improve programming workflows, tooling strategies, machine utilization, and process standardization.
  • Plan and oversee the design of manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, gauges, machinery, equipment, and related industrial systems.
  • Evaluate, develop, test, source, and cost-justify new tooling, fixtures, machinery, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Oversee equipment installation and operation.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities through external vendors and specialized service providers.
  • Ensure manufacturing and assembly processes are properly documented through clear work instructions and consistently followed.
  • Develop and promote a strong culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental capital, maintenance, and operating budgets.
  • Develop and justify quality, process, and performance criteria.
  • Estimate resource requirements, production times, and costs to support make-or-buy decisions.
  • Identify and escalate technical, operational, and risk-related concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve overall performance.
  • Develop and maintain weekly reporting metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety and employment regulations.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • At least three years of leadership or management experience.
  • At least five years of process or industrial engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an Engineering Change Request or similar change-management process.
  • Manufacturing experience involving machining, CNC programming, and assembly strongly preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, employee-development, project-management, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
