About the team We're the Energy Category team within Amazon's Global Procurement Organization - sourcing electric and gas utilities, power generators, microgrids, onsite renewables and storage, hydrogen, fuel cells, and energy services across global fulfillment and transportation operations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field - 5+ years of experience in energy industry, utilities, or energy procurement - 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, or supplier management - Experience using data and metrics to drive decisions and communicate outcomes to senior leadership - Experience working cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Direct experience in utility procurement, energy supply management, or utility rate/tariff optimization - Experience with competitive energy supply in deregulated markets (retail energy provider selection, contract structuring) - Experience developing forward purchasing or price risk management strategies for energy commodities - Knowledge of utility regulatory frameworks, rate cases, interconnection processes, or grid reliability programs - Experience managing third-party consultants, brokers, or outsourced service providers - Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, battery storage, or distributed energy resources - Experience with procurement technology tools or AI-driven sourcing and analytics The base salary range for this position is listed below.
