Full Job Description
About the Role:

Joining a new pension plan is one of the most consequential decisions an employer can make for its people, and the experience they have during onboarding sets the tone for the entire relationship. As Manager, Employer Onboarding, you'll lead the team responsible for making that experience exceptional.

You'll oversee the full scope of onboarding for employers joining CAAT's DBplus pension plan, guiding them through complex, often nonstandard terms with clarity and confidence. You'll be the steady hand for our most complex employer files, the escalation point when challenges arise, and the coach who helps your team grow into trusted advisors. Beyond the day-to-day, you'll help shape the strategy, processes, and tools that define how we onboard employers for years to come, partnering across legal, policy, communications, pension education, business development, and IT to deliver a best-in-class experience every time.

If you're energized by combining deep pension expertise with people leadership and client relationship management, this role offers the scope to do all three.

As the Newest Member of Our Team, You'll:
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding journey for new employers, with direct leadership on our most complex and high-profile files
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of onboarding professionals, building a cohesive, high-performing group that takes pride in their work
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for operational issues, resolving complex problems through to end-to-end resolution while keeping employer satisfaction front and centre
  • Plan and orchestrate onboarding implementation plans, managing scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional dependencies across internal teams (legal, policy, communications, pension education, business development, IT, and others)
  • Build trusted relationships with employer clients, responding to queries courteously and on time, and providing recommendations and best practices grounded in your pension expertise
  • Champion the implementation of departmental strategy, contributing to operational planning and scoping new projects
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, procedures, and tools, making the onboarding experience better for employers, internal stakeholders, and your team with every cycle
  • Stay ahead of pension industry practices and applicable legislation, bringing that knowledge back to inform how we onboard and advise employers

To Succeed, You Bring:
  • A College Diploma or University Degree
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in pensions or financial services, with extensive knowledge of pension plans (DB, DC, and Group RRSP), payroll-based data collection, and related legislation
  • Demonstrated people leadership and mentoring skills leading cross-functional project teams or managing a team of direct reports
  • A track record of leading client-facing implementation projects from initiation through delivery
  • Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders without losing the thread
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the judgment to know when to standardize and when to tailor
  • Creativity and innovation in problem-solving, especially when employer terms are nonstandard or escalations are complex
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help people. The kind of presence that calms a tense escalation and builds long-term trust
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical pension concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • A CEBS, RPA, or PMP designation (preferred); actuarial experience is a strong asset
