Overview:CBS Sports HQ is looking for a new manager to join the Editorial Graphics team in Stamford, CT! This position is responsible for planning graphics execution in alignment with CBS Sports branding and strategy. This manager reports into the Senior Manager, Editorial Graphics and manages a team of Associate Producers and Production Assistants.
This role is based on-site in Stamford and the schedule will include nights (starting at 4pm ET) in addition to weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include:- Leading a team of Associate Producers and Production Assistants
- Providing employee development, scheduling staff, delegating assignments and providing feedback and coaching; Serves as shift supervisor as needed
- Troubleshooting basic graphics technical issues with Engineering
- Collaborating with Editorial, Research, Marketing, Programming, Sales, and Production staff across CBS Sports streaming and linear properties to bridge consistency in content
- Assisting with deploying new software and training staff on new editorial and technological workflows
- Enforcing CBS Sports editorial standards and aligns audience messaging within segments and using high attention to detail to catch mistakes while reviewing graphics in a timely fashion
- Updating and maintaining graphics guides and style guides for CBS Sports HQ graphics employees
- Ensuring assets (i.e. logos, front ends, headshots, promos) are organized and available for programming in time for air
- Collaborating directly with the producers and Research department to design and pitch custom XPression templates that enhance storylines, statistics, and game analysis for the viewer
- Providing feedback on custom studio wall graphics to elevate creativity and innovation
- Writing succinct headlines to reflect key storylines and critical thinking in selection of research notes to further the story
- Assist the design and production teams by creating custom walls using Adobe Photoshop
Basic Qualifications:- 3+ years of relative experience including graphic style guide application in a sports network, brand or newsroom setting
- Previous supervisor/leader with experience making decisions and finding solutions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays under tight deadlines
Additional Qualifications:- Deep sports knowledge of college and professional sports, fantasy and gambling beyond CBS Sports properties
- Experience in delivering feedback and modeling professional behavior
- Prior experience utilizing ROSS XPression, Chyron
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, basic knowledge of After Effects a plus
- Strong knowledge of editorial content and AP Style Guide
- Ability to work well in a live control room environment and in a group environment
- Well-developed communication skills
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $98,400.00 - 105,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
