The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging provides operational and people leadership for a multidisciplinary team of approximately 55 Diagnostic Radiology Technologists, Imaging Interns, and Radiology Clinical Associates. Working through three direct-report supervisors, this leader will strengthen collaboration, guide complex daily operations, and help prepare the department for important equipment and Emergency Department enhancements.
The Role In this role, you will balance real-time operational leadership with the thoughtful development of supervisors and frontline imaging professionals. You will maintain a strong presence with the team, remove barriers to patient care, and partner across disciplines to keep imaging services safe, responsive, and aligned with organizational priorities.
An average day may include:
- Leading daily team huddles and connecting with supervisors to review staffing, workflow, patient-care priorities, and emerging concerns.
- Providing oversight for diagnostic imaging and fluoroscopy guidance performed throughout the medical center.
- Coaching three supervisors and supporting the performance, engagement, and professional development of approximately 55 technologists, interns, and Radiology Clinical Associates.
- Participating in interdisciplinary meetings and fulfilling key responsibilities within Radiology leadership.
- Solving moderately complex operational challenges involving staffing, workflow, equipment, service delivery, and competing clinical priorities.
- Ensuring team members are deployed effectively, and daily work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established resources.
- Collaborating with leaders inside and outside Radiology to coordinate services and advance shared patient-care goals.
- Helping guide the department through Emergency Department renovations, fixed diagnostic equipment upgrades, and the incorporation of overhead ceiling lifts designed to support patient and team-member safety .
This is an excellent next step for an experienced
RT(R) who is ready to expand their leadership impact. The strongest candidates will bring substantial diagnostic imaging experience, progressive leadership responsibility, and demonstrated success collaborating across clinical and operational teams. Operating room imaging experience is valuable, but the ability to build relationships, develop people, and lead through change will be equally important.
The position follows a primarily Monday through Friday schedule with eight-hour shifts. The core schedule is approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility in scheduled hours. Following onboarding, the manager participates in backup manager on-call coverage approximately once every five to six weeks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: 3 years progressively more responsible experience required
Licensure: License / Certification in at least one clinical modality (i.e. X-ray, Sonography, MRI, CT, Nuc Med)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The pay range for this role is $106,974.40 - $171,163.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
