Full Job Description
Role Impact:

The Manager, Development supports the SVP/VP Development by participating in and managing key aspects of the development process with various disciplines, from initial concept through to the completion of construction and start up of property management on time and within budget. This role understands and may anticipate long-term, more strategic needs by continually reviewing project and assigned properties for opportunities to enhance company value.

What you will deliver:

  • Support the advancement of project objectives, milestones, and delivery requirements of selected multi-family rental, condominium, and commercial developments from early stages of pre-development through to implementation.
  • Conduct residential and commercial market analyses to help validate project scope and confirm revenue assumptions.
  • Collaborate with the internal development team and external consultants to help define design scope and drive project cost certainty.
  • Under minimal supervision, direct and obtain required regulatory agreements including development permits and zoning approvals through the management of consultants, architects, lawyers, and municipal representatives.
  • Manage the financial modeling and underwriting process from pre-development through project stabilization, ensuring alignment with corporate financial benchmarks and return metrics.
  • Coordinate inter-departmental communications with respect to development by keeping various departments informed of all new developments, updates, and status of projects to facilitate ongoing cooperation, foster a team environment and enhance decision making and strategic responses to ensure a successful project delivery and transition to the operating teams.
  • Prepare reports, analysis, presentations, and funding requests to Senior Leadership, Partner, and Executive audiences.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date project files, including plans, contracts, leases, and proposals.

What you need to succeed:

  • University Degree, B. Com., Architecture, and/or Engineering
  • B.A or M.S.RED preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development field
  • Experience with commercial and residential development an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of financial modeling
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis, project management, regulatory processes (zoning, official plans), site planning and design, market conditions and lease legal issues
  • Basic understanding of project financing including CMHC programs
  • Proficient in the use of Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)


Starting base salary for this job level may range from $81,433to $108,577. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range. Cadillac Fairview offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to base pay which may include a performance - based incentive plan, a comprehensive pension and benefits plan, paid time off including vacation, well-being & volunteer days and support for continued growth and development.
