Full Job Description
Manager, Data Quality

Position Overview

You will own data quality monitoring across Gen II's platform and our key client relationships, reporting to the Head of Client Data and Reporting. As clients increasingly access Gen II data directly through embedded analytics and self-service portals, the integrity of the underlying transactional data becomes a critical differentiator. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, requiring an expert-level understanding of Gen II's data model and the discipline to work with private equity accounting data at a granular level. Partnering closely with the data remediation, platform, client service, and technology teams to ensure that client-facing data meets expectations and that internal KPIs around data quality and technology adoption accurately reflect the state of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Client Data Quality

  • Develop and maintain expert-level understanding of Gen II's data model and the transactional data underpinning private equity accounting.
  • Engage with key client relationships to understand data needs, consumption patterns, and reporting requirements.
  • Proactively monitor transactional data quality across critical client portfolios, identifying issues before they surface to the client.
  • Partner with the data remediation team to scope and prioritize cleanup work tied to specific client requirements.
  • Work with the platform team to define and implement front-end controls that prevent data quality issues at the point of entry.
  • Coordinate with client service teams to ensure consistent, active understanding of client-specific data requirements.

Firm KPI Ownership

  • Monitor firm-wide KPIs around data quality and technology adoption on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop familiarity with Gen II's business goals and initiatives, and translate them into measurable KPI requirements.
  • Partner with the technology team to define KPI specifications, validate measurement methodology, and confirm the accuracy of outputs over time.
  • Own the accuracy of KPI outputs and stand behind the numbers when reviewed internally.
  • Surface trends and insights that inform operational and platform decisions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in fund administration, asset management, or financial services data operations.
  • Working knowledge of private equity fund accounting, including capital activity, general ledger, allocations, and investor reporting.
  • Demonstrated comfort working with transactional data at a granular level, with strong attention to detail and a track record of catching issues that others miss.
  • Experience defining or validating operational KPIs and reporting metrics.
  • Ability to work effectively across operations, technology, and client-facing teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working with modern BI and accounting platforms and writing or reviewing data queries.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Desired Attributes:

  • Familiarity with ILPA reporting standards and PE-specific data structures.
  • Experience supporting client-facing reporting or self-service analytics environments.
  • Direct exposure to data remediation or data governance programs in a fund administration or asset management context.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate's experience level.
