The Manager, Data Engineering is responsible for the management of Automotive Finance (AF) Data Mart used for manufacturer subvention invoicing, manufacturer reporting, AF management reporting, profit planning and forecasting, and pricing. This includes the development, implementation, and ongoing management of all AF databases and data related processes as well as the ongoing analysis and evaluation of AF data mart to determine opportunities for enhanced operational efficiency, new functionality and improved customer satisfaction for all invoicing, reporting, and planning activities.

Additionally, the manager will ensure data integrity, help respond to data requests and support other team members on management reporting and business analytics.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Manages the comprehensive review, analysis and evaluation of AF Data Mart and all processes associated with the business line data, highlighting significant trends and developments and their potential impact on the business line and coordinates with IT&S on operational issues
  • Design enhancements to AF Datamart to support the business line and work with IT&S to test and implement these solutions, for processes such as pricing, planning, amortization, subvention billing, rate blending, etc.
  • Provides advice, recommendations and support to AF team members with regards to issues and opportunities related to manufacturer subvention invoicing process and other reporting processes.
  • Responds to ad-hoc data requests for reports and statistics for all AF stakeholders as well as manages regular reporting to manufacturers and other needs of the AF Head Office.
  • Manages requests for enhancements to regular daily, weekly, and monthly reports (buying statistics, Loyalty Program, daily/monthly/YTD bookings, etc.) and invoicing processes for all stakeholders, including development, implementation, and ongoing management of AF databases, systems, processes, and report templates used to generate the manufacturer reports based on the requirements from the AF manufacturer partners.
  • Manages data extraction and data preparation processes for product pricing, AF management reporting, profit planning, and forecasting; works with AF Information Technology partners (EDL and IT&S) to ensure that all required data is correctly captured in the source systems and uploaded into the AF Data Mart.
  • Ensures integrity of data used for manufacturer subvention invoicing, manufacturer reporting, AF management reporting, profit planning and forecasting, by reconciling data sources and developing quality checks as part of the invoicing and reporting development process.
  • Prepares business requirements for the development of software solutions that meet AF short-, medium-, and long-term business needs for invoicing and reporting processes for manufacturer programs and other AF retail and commercial products. Participates in the implementation of developed solutions within AF. Provides recommendations to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Information Systems on issues pertaining to development and implementation of IT solutions.
  • Supports implementation and maintenance of Business Intelligence analytics and reporting solutions for various user groups within and outside AF, fully leveraging various platforms (Power BI, Python, etc.)

  • Knowledge of in Power BI will be an asset
